That's because they aren't. Many here are grandstanding. My post about teaching really had nothing to do with this thread per se. I was just discussing teaching methodology in general. Since this is off-topic, I won't post anything further on this subject. BTW short from 1506.50 :p...

What bull crap. Hey Teach, the objective is to teach the lesson. An educator's job is to transfer knowledge in an efficient and constructive manner, not to obsfucate and stonewall the learning process. Under your theory of teaching, the student who easily grasps concepts isn't learning as...

I think you are spot on. Many of the posts here have marginal value. They are for the most part, the "look how smart I am" variety. " I bought at X and sold at Y." Muhammad Ali is alive and well here. "I am the greatest"

Oh, because it certainly made more sense that way.

Apex, you didn't mention any stops. How far are you willing to let this run against you?

I think that's a bit of an overexaggeration. I'll grant you that the last 2 weeks of August pretty much suck. But, June and July usually still have good volume and range.

Tell that to the Nikkei buyers of the late 80's early 90s, or the Nasdaq buyers of 2000

Way to really stick your neck out there. Lets see, the market could go lower over the next few weeks, or it could re-test the highs. I suggest getting long here. Wait, It could be a little early. Can I get a side of eggs with those waffles?

    Tired of lack of confidence

I kind of figured you must have been a Chris Moneymaker back then. Right place, right time, hot hands. Thanks for enlightening us. I respect that. Also, I didn't mean to bust your balls too bad. I don't disagree with you that indicators are not the holy grail. But I think the right...

    Tired of lack of confidence

So, let me get this straight. You were a newbie trader, and you grew your account 12,000% in 18 months in the early 80s? Well, shit. You must be worth at least 100MM by now. I'm surprised you take the time to slum with us peons here at ET. Yep you're a big swinging dick Mr. 5 lot ES...

    Tired of lack of confidence

This from a guy who banished himself from ET because he got his ass handed to him by trying to call tops in the ES. Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain. TA indicators do work. The trick is finding the right time frame and indicator for the type of market you are in at the time...

Lucky for you self-centered pricks that there is no draft. Now that might really put a crimp in your pathetic lives.

Not enough follow through to the downside. Out for even. I don't trade off of MAs, but I saw it was in a down trend, Adv/Dec. below 1 all day. Tick relatively weak. Thought I would give it a shot on an otherwise slow day.
