    Martial arts & trading

Trading does take a special mind set, one that lets you see thru all the crap and understand what's really happening. Once you do, trading is very simple, but requires disipline. Trading is 100% teachable, but are you willing to learn. Traders aren't born imo, though if you're someone that's...

    Martial arts & trading

IMO it has nothing to do w/ sports, martial arts, etc. It has to do w/ drive, determination, focus, etc. Success breeds success. If you've been a successful athlete, business man, black belt, etc, you know what it takes to create success. But if you're a strugling trader, signing up for kung...

CNBC keeps preying on dumb money for ratings?

The one that cracks me up is Guy's "know your chart patterns" little clip, and the finger pointing. That being said its still their best show. CNBC should take notice to "the naked news" for a new twist, though Mark Hains would have to go.

    bigstring and email.

I guess you missed the fine print that says if you do a screen capture and it's detected by their software, they will send someone over to break your legs. Just be careful whatever you do.

HUGE CORRECTION awaiting YM, ES, NQ

IMO areas to watch for es mini futs. Getting over and holding 1488 is bullish/a break out. Look to sell weak moves in this area until it proves its gonna hold. If we hold, additional areas of resistance. 1504 minor 1509-13.5 1517-23 1527-31 1539-41.5

5.20% CD terms 6mo to 10 years. too good to be true?

Stick 10k in a Sun Trust account for 3 months, make 2.25% on the money plus a free round trip plane ticket. Assuming the flt would cost you $200, not a bad return.

5.20% CD terms 6mo to 10 years. too good to be true?

5.2% is ok, but I wouldn't want to leave it there 10 yrs to mature. Various money markets are paying 5-5.5% and completely liquid. Unfortuately HSBC is only good thru 4/30/07. Though I wouldn't do it, Ford Motor credit offers 5.9 - 6%+ but it isn't FDIC backed.

    Daylight saving time problem

Apparently DST is adjusted on the loacal computer. So in windows somewhere it has the change date, and my computer still think it's April 1. This whole thing is just crap. Double click the clock in the tray, select time zones, uncheck daylight savings box.

    Daylight saving time problem

If you change your time zone 1hr earlier you should be fine when you sync atomically. If currently nyc time (-5hrs), change to -4.

    My Simple CNBC Strategy

I'd rather just pay cnbc $1mil for the rights to Rebecca over at the nasd. Trade like a pro, still lose weight!

    Platform recommendations

If you're a complete newbie don't trade at all for at least 6 months! You can do free live demos that offer charting w/ most brokers. This will give you an idea if your interested. A couple points. OEC isn't so hot in a fast market, and just average under normal conditions. Transact...

    Woodies CCI

I don't care if woodie and his cult following win or lose in their trading; my guess is they lose more then win. I was in his room back when it was a room where traders could share ideas freely. I actually learned a thing or two. As for the CCI and his method, I'd stay away. There is so much...

    IB trin/tick data

To my understanding, 6 seconds from the time it starts the calculation. So when the data for 11:00:00 is calculated, at 11:00:06 we see it's value. 6 seconds isn't usually much of a problem, but why not find a faster source if possible. Maybe I'm the only one to miss fills by seconds at times.
