As DXPE didn't reach FRV I sold at 17.54. I am still confident about IRIS after holding it for 5 days but as we're going into the weekend and wanted to book some profits I sold it at 26.06.

Perfect example of what not to do: because of the quite day and very few stocks trading above avg. volumes, I forced this trade in LRCX without waiting for NR. 11c loss: shorted at 35.89, covered 36.00.

:) Boy... quite day today. I entered DXPE at 17:39. Still holding IRIS from 25.6 and will probably sell during the day on a trailing stop to lock in some profits.

Spyder, very good analysis, it clears some of the doubts I was having recently. Although that green circle on the 30min chart doesn't look perfect... :)

I overlay the stock index in eSignal as per my previous posts. You can also check the % change of the stock and the index side to side, but the overlay gives a more accurate, real-time view. Good trading this morning.

martys, I think relative strength to the stock index helps as it shows the real game in the stock. give it a try.

How do you calculate normalized volumes at any point of the day? Do you average past EOD volumes and then apply a fixed volume ratio for all stocks given the time of the day or you use a different methodology?
