I've heard the saying, "you have to slow down to go faster". Today would be an example of this. I Bought and Sold EME today for a small profit, $43. Trade: Bought 100 shares of EME @ $77.2 Sold 100 shares of EME @ $77.73 Net profit: $43 Today would have been a lot better, if I...

Day Trading - A successful method for losers

Here are my stock picks for tomorrow. I tried to tighten my standards a bit more, due to the 2 losses today. Even though there are 10 stocks on the list, I'm only interested in a just few. The rest I'd only trade if volume was impressive. Just a quick note. If I have one more loss in a...

Just a quick update... I bought and sold ATI today for a $28 net loss. Trade: bought 200 shares of ATI at $41.77 sold 200 shares of ATI at $41.66 commission = $10 reason for sale: break of trendline, heavy volume selling (poor market conditions).

Day Trading - A successful method for losers

I just completed my stock selections for Monday. I have only 12 stocks I'll be following. I've cut my average daily list in half to reduce risk (I usually have around 25 per day). Comments are always welcome.

Day Trading - A successful method for losers

The markets took a monstrous hit last week. The channels that define the price movements are currently ambiguous. My trading will be very cautious until I see some directions that defines these channels. When being cautious, I'll reduce my exposure to 25-50%. If I know a stock is breaking out...

Anyone know the definition of bloodbath? Today would be a great description of it I believe. No trading due to meetings all day, but who needs an excuse on a day like this. Hope for next week.

Market channels are still looking good. The slope and width of the NASDAQ and the S&P have both corrected to acceptable levels. I'm not feeling as cautious as I was yesterday. Full steam ahead, damn the market makers... Here is my stock list for tomorrow. I have meetings most of the day, so I...

Just a quick update... I bought and sold SIGM today for a 1.5% profit. Trade: bought 1000 shares of SIGM at $16.53 sold 1000 shares of SIGM at $16.69 reason for sale: break of trendline I probably could have held longer, but I chose not to be greedy. I've learned with this...

Day Trading - A successful method for losers

Hi cnms2, Here's another saying, "no pain, no gain"! I've learned that there is always' opportunity. It just might take more hard work to find. After reading sideshowbob's reply, I will tighten up my standards. Seeing a couple of the big Cap's take a fall is enough for me to put the...

Day Trading - A successful method for losers

Markets fell below the levels I stated yesterday. I checked the futures market. The futures are way down (probably due to YHOO's poor earnings). After looking at the width and slope of the new channels, I believe that the markets need to correct even more than I originally thought. I'm going to...

Day Trading - A successful method for losers

Missed today's trading. Was not able to access the market for most of the day. I came home late, pulled up my trading info and found a possible candidate. The stock was EIX. I considered buying it, but decided against it because I had just opened the chart and really didn't have a "feel" for...

More info on how I trade... I've attached an exel spreadsheet that contains all my notes for the following day. This sheet is a "quick glance" type sheet which I will need to place a trade. The most two most important columns are: vol/ 1/4 hr and pivot. During trading hours, when an alert is...

Day Trading - A successful method for losers

I've finally run through the picks for Tuesday. I cut the list from 45 down to 26. I had to cut out a lot of stocks I'd love to be watching, but one can only comprehend so much. Part of my trading is to perform a market analysis, before any trading is done. My analysis is purely technical...

Day Trading - A successful method for losers

If anyone is interested, I'm attaching my preliminary list of 45 stocks. I'm doing this so you can see my process. This week was pretty laborious. I feel like a miner of the old west, scouring the earth for the next big score - it's hard work, but exciting. Anyone else get that feeling...

Day Trading - A successful method for losers

Hello All, I've just compiled my weekly list for next week. It's pretty large - 170 stocks. This is the master list I will check and pull from each day. Some on the list are below my standards, but have something in them that caught my eye (I try not to be too rigid). I have done a...
