I'm seeing 1465.25 SPX Cash as a 50% retracement. Did you mean the 61.8% retracement? I get 1485.12 as the 61.8% retracement, which is where I derived part of my reasoning for major resistance at this level. The others being 50 day MA and 78.6% retracement of 9/4 to 9/10.

Thanks, I've planned and executed a few of these "set it and forget it" (:p ) trades before and they work around 50% of the time they're actually entered for at least 10 points with a ~2 point stop.... so thats a pretty positive expectancy IMO. I just cant wait to get time back at the screen to...

I'm seeing very strong resistance at 1484.75 - 1485.25 on the SPX cash.... so like 1486.75 - 1487.25 on ES.... We've got the 50-day MA (and bouncing off the MA's has been the game for quite a while now)... we've got the 61.8% retracement from July hi's to August lo's (which isn't quite as...

    My longshot is

And so the breakout begins... l'm looking to take a little off at 1.17, most at 1.40, and seeing if she wants to run to $2 even! Will she get there??? We will see :)

Just wondering, do you see it for the same reason or from some other analysis? The early morning lows at 1456 add some synergy to the mix IMO. A stop at 1556.50-1557 offers some good R/R.

I see 1454-1455 as resistance for an equal length move setup repeating fridays action. We've already had the ~24 point decline repeated, lets see if she turns after a similar 14 point rebound.

Short at 74.50 stop at 75.50... and going to sleep... seeing what move I can get (if any) by the AM.... if not its 1 point. the TL extending from 7/25 across the highs is on my side (which could mean squat with fed meeting tomorrow)...

I jealous man, I was so close to pulling the trigger. It was like 1 lot, 1 lot, 1 lot, hitting the bid per second then it paused for a few seconds with bid at 1476 and I knew I should do it. Anyway that rally was brought down with no volume, I'm looking to short a rebound to 74.50 to ride in AM.

I agree Spectre... that 1488 - 1492 offers some pretty real resistance. The 50-day MA is not to be messed with. Its nicely placed for 1484 stops to get blown, breakout traders to get long, and the real big guys that need the massive liquidity to get short for a big down-move. I have no idea...

Yep, kinda disappointed the market didn't want to drop a few more points before taking off this morning... oh well, when I'm trying to pick a 2.5 point zone I gotta play it ultra-conservative-best-case-scenario style to avoid taking too many losses. I see 1 somewhat major resistance zone at...

Is this now AB=CD=EF? :p I'm not in a trade but I'd be looking for a couple points under that 1456 since the pattern is clear now and I'd be afraid of other front-running sellers... thats just me though.

Noted. Compare 8/03 to 8/04 though... thats what I'm looking for. Closed on the low on 8/03, then fell another 5.45 points on 8/04 before reversing hard. Todays low minus 5.45 puts the SPX at 1526.55... premium adjusted = 1430 on the ES. Not saying this will happen, just trying to look to...

How do you go about calculating your premium? I try to select a few different minutes of the day where their is low activity and comparing the highs and seeing what the average was. I actually see I'm getting 3.5 now that I took more samples which is closer to what you're using. Now the...

Very rarely I will place orders with certain parameters in the morning before class/internship. After I place these orders I am unable to see a real-time chart for the rest of the day. Tomorrow may be one of those days, depending on action tonight. What I have in mind - Long Order @ 1431...

    My longshot is

I think its time to give that little AMEX video game accessory stock known as Mad-Catz (MCZ) a shot. From a fundamental's standpoint, theres no hotter sector to be in than video games with the upcoming release of Halo3 in the next month. I'm 20, so I'm still pretty "in-touch" with these...

Damn, I was short from 1479.50 with a stop at 1481 and just got taken out. I had this zone as a resistance level from the daily. Usually in AH they bounce off these zones easily. :edit: last shot at this zone here... short at 1481 with a stop at 1481.50 :edit:.... done... seems like...
