    lcd shopping... any suggestions???

Hopefully reality sinks in eventually. I think it's bull Sh** that I paid ~$800 each for 2 LCD monitors that crap out within a year. I'm going to the Buy.com web page to write a review right now:)

    Need Help with Futures Questions

Maxtrax, If you decide on eSignal I would recommend you try their simulated broker. I currently use Ensign's simulated broker with an eSignal data feed and find it much better than PFG's or the CME's simulator.

    lcd shopping... any suggestions???

The CRT was bad when I received it. Replaced it with a Sony Trinitron and put it on the same video card and it worked great. I've replicated the LCD not displaying properly (blank screen for minutes) on several machines / video cards. I still need to do due diligence in my testing of the...

    lcd shopping... any suggestions???

I will never buy another Viewsonic again. I purchased a 19" CRT about a year ago and sent it back. I worked w/ technical support but the picture was always fuzzy. I purchased 2 VG175 LCD's and have used them for about a year. Both of them are giving me problems right now. One is constantly...

    Chatroom Recommendation

I've trialed MTrader several times in the last year and a half and joined for a couple months about a year ago. Here's my 2 cents: 1) Their posted results are a joke, nobody has just winners. 2) Their calls are too quick, I get the feeling they front-run them with their own executions...

In fast moving market, IB is a joke

qdz2, you complain so much about IB that your bitching carries zero credibility. Give it a rest son.

What do you do when you break your own rules?

Stop trading that day, don't trade that day and the next, or don't trade for that week until you comprehend that you will be out of this business unless you follow the rules.

Lol You Have Got To Be....

I used Realtick for ES trading prior to TWS and in my opinion TWS beats them in order entry. I too would prefer the entry price on the main page, instead they force you to open another window for the trade log. (monitor space is limited) Just doesn't make sense to me, they have the column...

    Changing monitor setup software problem

I have this same problem with my laptop, when I removed the monitor (2nd screen) I have one application that still thinks the monitor is attached and it loads outside of my view. No idea why.

    Trading can be easy

EliteTrader amazes me, there's always an a**hole in the bunch that has to rip another poster and say "What is their motive...They wouldn't post this shit if it worked" Then why are you on this board other than to be an obnoxious loser Illiquid??

    Is cable really less secure...

In my opinion, most everything can be cracked at some point in time. That's why they keep coming up with stronger encryption. But don't sweat it, you're taking more risk trading than making a secure transaction. The probability that a neighbor is going to crack 128 bit encription to steal your...

    Is cable really less secure...

No more toilet paper, eggs, or soaping your windows... "Get out of my yard!" "Go sc**w yourself mister, I know what's on your hard drive. Does your wife like you having all that porn???"

    Is cable really less secure...

I wouldn't be too worried about it. Just make sure you have a good firewall and follow Nitro's recommendation. (Getting rid of the Adminstration login is brilliant!) Also never do a confidential transaction that's not a secure connection (padlock on the bottom of your browser) and make sure you...

    Is cable really less secure...

Agreed, my girlfriend teaches upper level math classes and these kids are too concerned with graduating as high up in their class as possible. Most wouldn't risk their status by doing something like this. However, it will make you think twice when you yell at your neighborhood kid:D

    Is cable really less secure...

I'm not trying to propagate fear. A couple of years ago I would have agreed with you on this one. But teenagers today are getting their Cisco Certifications (CCNA, CCDA, CCNP) while they're in High School. My girlfriend has a student that has all three of these certifications and he helps teach...

    Is cable really less secure...

From what I understand, DSL is switched (its own little LAN) from the CO to your house while Cable is part of a shared LAN with other users. With Cable, your neighbor could hook up a Network General Sniffer and see the traffic that's destined for your computer. That's were the security is...

    Is cable really less secure...

Hey canyonman00, Would a standard Linksys router running NAT and Zone Alarm on the PC be sufficient for Cable Modem connectivity?
