    Predicting is ***Unavoidable***

This thread proves there are a large percentage of people who cant grasp the simplest of logic. Anyone who places a trade is PREDICTING the market will act in a way that will be profitable to them most of the time or they wouldnt place the trade. Everything else is spin. the end

POLL for traders who trade the Jack Hershey method(s) in real time with real money

Jack supporters will simply claim that everyone losing money is "doing it wrong". Kinda like reading tea leaves.

Here is what I dont get. If you make lots of money, you get to buy a big house. If your poor, you rent a little piece of crap. If you make lots of money, you drive a BMW, if you dont, you have a 10 year old civic. If you make lots of money, you can afford great insurance that covers...

The "The EU vs. USA" study is incredible. Just because you claim there are obvious flaws and dont think the conclusions are valid, doesnt make it so. The study made sure to compare tangible things instead of just money for a reason. Its a fair comparison. Yes, a car does in fact signify...

Mortgage Defaults Will ADD 500,000 Homes To Unsold Homes Inventory

A washout and nice drop in home prices needs to happen. Otherwise, the majority of americans will forever be priced out of the market. This is a mess. The government simply rolled over the 200 stock market crash into the housing market.

Who is first choice to trust with a programming a trading idea?

Giving a working strategy to a programmer to automate your system and not expecting him to use it himself is just plain foolish. Would be better to simply strike a deal. Something like... you program this for free, and maintain it for me forever, and you can trade it too, but my market/limit...

Funny, all my canadian friends who moved here said their healthcare in canada sucked ass, and that they were happy to pay a little more each month for real healthcare in the states. That their monthly payment was far cheaper than the tax difference they paid in canada for healthcare. I trust...

    Predicting is ***Unavoidable***

Another analogy for the "unthinking now" guys who trade on instinct and in the moment, and claim no prediction. When a martial artist starts his training, he is taught to block a left hook, maybe by raising his forearm/elbow to block. When a left hook is thrown, he thinks about it, and...

Deep Blue uses mostly brute force attack. It chooses the best move by predicting, via live simulation, its opponents best possible moves, future board strength for all said moves, as far as it can calculate within time limits. Of course its predicting. Every time it makes a move, it does it...

    Predicting is ***Unavoidable***

In chess you make moves because you are predicting what your opponent is going to do, and what the board will look like in the future. Chess is especially about predicting. I played at an expert level years ago.

When you point your BFG at a monster in DOOM and pull the trigger, are you not predicting that you will hit the monster and attempt to do damage to it? Why would you pull the trigger if you didnt think it would hit, do damage, or have some benefit to you? We predict all the time.

Anyone who believes the standard of living in Europe is higher than the USA hasnt done their homework, plain and simple. There are easy to find studies proving this is not the case. Go google. Just because socialized healthcare may work somewhere else doesnt mean it will work here...

The correct weather analogy would be. You look out the window and see rain clouds forming. So before walking out the door, you pickup the umbrella. Some people here are trying to convince us that you didnt just make a prediction :D The trading version: You look at your screen and...

    Predicting is ***Unavoidable***

If you want to convince us that you are not actually predicting, then simply state that when you put on a trade, when you hit that buy button, you have absolutely no idea or expectation that you will profit from it.

Your experience as a beginner in C++

Hard to think of many languages that are a worse choice than C++ to learn as a first language. C++ is just terrible as a language. Glad its not nearly as popoular as in the 90's. Go C+, or even straight C, or something totally different like Java, Ruby, Python or PHP.

    Predicting is ***Unavoidable***

Whatever you say yoda. You can be in the NOW all day long, but the moment you put on a trade, its because you are predicting its likely to be in your favor. Otherwise you are just being stupid and flipping coins. Prediction is not avoidable if you are attempting to make money.

A person who is in the market all the time, switching from long to short to long to short, based on whats going on NOW is still predicting. Lets say you are currently long, and something occurs which makes you sell and immediately go short to always be in the market. Why did you switch...
