    wow, i just got through reading more of the posts - how pessimistic! i guess the main thing is to talk to people who are in the field now. i.e. thinking about being a dentist, talk to dentists. thinking about being a finance type, talk to finance types. i guess talking to us sorta covers...

    op dude, i would become the dentist, save the bucks, trade on the side, when you're good enough go part-time at dentist trade, then full-time at trading. that way, if you suck as a trader, could always go back to dentistry....:)

    good God, people. don't tease the boy. dude, you only lost 10cents per change, which is what they charge for changes. so let's say you made 100 changes, then you lost $10. big woop. that's what a normal place would charge for one trade!
