Wouldn't be surprised if we need to shake out some more people in the a.m. so "Go Bears" can do his victory dance before the rug gets pulled.

There you go -- kinda got that "gap and crap" action (please people, let's not debate whether it was a true gap -- that's not the point).

Are the 50sma and the 200sma support and resistance on intraday charts?

I don't like them on the futures charts but do like them on the intraday Index / ETF charts such as SPY (i.e., only regular market hours).

Nice. I used to be good at shorting the stock market but then I got too much of a "go bears" mindset and lost my edge so tend to more for long or flat. I am exploring it more, though. And then I have my long-term bullish outlook for this year. As of now, prefer shorting stuff other than the...

More interested in gold and currency moves today. Gold reversed a bit ago. Pattern looks bearish to me.

Interesting. So could always be a gap and crap day. But right now I'm expecting today to finish up but tomorrow, as of now, looks more iffy. There seems to be something brewing with currencies, precious metals, etc.

He is a microcosm of the masses of investors, hanging on every economic report or fed news, thinking that he'll find some answers in that information. He's still waiting for that "all clear" sign that it's safe to be in the market again. That will come just about the time of the next major top.

Well, KenC resurfaced just a few moments ago so probably time for the market to bounce.

I think last 10 years isn't a long enough sample set. Most of the data I have pointed to supporting a bull market goes back at least 80 years. That being said, we have also discussed that February is typically not a strong month seasonally so we could still be in a bull yet have some rough...

From what I can tell, I don't see today bouncing later today -- at least nothing significant. One thing I noticed last night was that breadth wasn't particularly strong yesterday despite the rally.

The reality is being a bull at the right time is so counterintuitive -- it's like a pilot flying in fog who trusts his instruments that assure him he needs to pull up from a decline when everything in his body tells him he is fine and has been climbing. That's pretty much what they think...

I think this is where @themickey approach where you have an idea of where the market is going to end up allows you to focus on one thing. For me, it was buy weakness as the bias was a positive close. Still got another hour or so but so far so good.
