Well maybe it hasn't been around as long as I thought, but I know all the PMs at the fund I used to work with got the mag several years back and that was when I was first introduced to the name. I found the website earlier this year.

SeekingAlpha is primarily an institutional money management magazine that has been around for a good while. Many PMs running mutual funds, hedge funds, PE guys and the like receive and read the mag. The website is pretty decent, and it's free which is nice. however, as you say there is an...

Tommy - I know a little about APP. There were the darling of all the hedgies early last year due to the rock star persona of the founder. I think fundamentally the company has pretty nice room for growth but the have been plagued by some mgmt and accouting issues. They resolve this and it...

Is it possible to trade the emini Indexes without looking at the price of Oil?

Today is great day for the negative correlation trade. The euro breakdown could be huge for the equities market. transports already +3%.

Y today seems like could be huge - euro breaking down, could get oil to break down - (would be nice on same day olympics start no?) - outlier think we could break 92.

    Euro/usd

I bought UUP about three weeks or so ago in the low 22s but I have to say move not really that impressive imo for the etf. I guess I was just used to trading the currency futures contract and am not getting the 'umph' factor in the etf like I do the futures. But trade looking better so I am...

Is it possible to trade the emini Indexes without looking at the price of Oil?

Interesting thread. While I believe it is totally possible to trade without looking at the price of oil, over the past 3 weeks at least it has been very profitable to initiate negative correlation trades between the index futures and oil depending on the movement in oil. Lately the time...

I have been short euro long usd for a good bit of the ride down - pissed I am out - ahve been trying to wait for good opportunity to reshort. But that was/is one helluva move for an asian session to get it going - we may get some serious cracking in oil tomorrow.

Euro getting smacked pretty hard overnight right now - I cannot find any news right now and it just took another leg down. Curious if anyone else sees anything.

I totally agree - while my account is not large by any means I trade very small. Would rather be able to play the next day than try to get rich quick and blow up. I thought the same after reading the original post that you quoted. Very well said.

I give up. If you can get the ROT to work for you trading then great. I however think it is too vague to work. Maybe it can for an individual but I think OldTrader said it best in the new ROT journal when he said the market is always changing and that's why it's hard to use the ROT. It can...

Yes that would be great. I think today may have a hard time rallying with all the news, but any move down to 1265 to 1270 could be taken long with look at least above 1292 then onto 1320. Just my two cents.

out 80.5 -2 Don't like the drip up still looking short for right now but keep ing eyes in AIG - if it can reverse/rally could lead to financials stablization/rally to help upside ES.

S 78.5 3 point stop - financials too ugly, tech cannot fill the void and oil rallying. Will cover half 75 half 72.

I believe that statement you have quoted me on is pretty benign and thus don't understand why you seem to be semi- flaming me for it. But seeing as how you started a Rule of Ten journal, I know where you stand on the rule and obviously also my thoughts against it. If you look through my past...
