Trader P/L 2006 Questions and Discussion

Doesn't every swiftie know who he is then ? I think the majority knows 'S' :) He's at swift already quite some years ...

how do you know the size is still legit

Hmm... I've seen the spec showing 1 on bid/offer and seen him print BIG lots on that price (while there was nothing in the open book at that price) 'eating' a lot of momentum

how do you know the size is still legit

If someone from the floor tells the spec to buy 100k at a certain limit, would it appear in the open book or would the spec show this order as '1' on the l2 ? (or are both possible ?)

how do you know the size is still legit

I don't see much difference between an ECN refresher and the spec showing '1' ... All it says IMHO is that he's got some more than '1' :) But you won't know if that's 5000 or 5,000,000 :)

    Curiousity

okyou wouldn't even need a simulator, just go to any site with stock charts and put the sma in, and check whether it would work.. it would probably work in trending markets, and completely wash you out in non-trending markets.. if trading were to be this simple.. :p

Trader P/L 2006 Questions and Discussion

Ok, I thought you were talking about the present. First of all, it's not an ECN, it's an ATS :) Unlike an ECN, Nyfix doesn't post quotes. If it were an arb, you'd indeed be right that it would be just a privilege of having been at the right time, at the right place. However, by claiming...

Trader P/L 2006 Questions and Discussion

Which prop firms got turned down ? All the big prop firms have NYFX access already. And about success being mostly a privilige of being at the right place at the right time: There are more and more people out there who know EXACTLY what is going on but have a hard time making consistently good...

    Pictures of your trading stations

I think if you're an active daytrader, 2 monitors is really the minimum. I could perfectly 'do my thing' with 3 monitors, but it means you will swap pretty often your L2/chart windows between stocks. So, having more than 3 or 4 monitors isn't really "necessary" IMHO, but it just makes your life...

    Pictures of your trading stations

I started with these benq's (fp937s+), because they got a lot of good reviews and awards and are indeed relatively cheap. Then I bought 2 Samsung's 930BF's, these were a little bit more expensive and I was a bit amazed to see that after comparing them, the benq even was slightly better ! Then I...

    Pictures of your trading stations

Added 2 screens to my setup, now have 6 in total. They're all connected to 1 computer, and the 3.2 ghz cpu is now the bottleneck. I'm thinking to add 2 more, but I'm afraid that this setup lacks enough computer power to support all my l2's and charts..

    place in arca/brut queue ?

Hi, On www.mytrack.com you used to be able to check where your order was in the queue's on both arca and brut. However, they currently only show the TRAC book. Is there any software/feed that still shows the queue for some ECN's ? Thanks
