e-miNY crude oil and gas futures changes

The opening prints, probably also related to the switch-over. Looks like some software error, maybe a limit / market order misconfiguration or similar. I'd guess the trades will stand. Surdo, you see the real volume traded in these seconds ? In my software I see only prints for 6-10...

e-miNY crude oil and gas futures changes

It's not gonna trade "normal" again. You'll be glad if volume goes to 10k again - on good days. Not nearly as many ppl have Clearport access (as w/ Globex). I don't see how anyone installs Clearport access just to trade QM/QG's. I wonder if IB uses a middleman now ? Can anyone from IB...

e-miNY crude oil and gas futures changes

Ok, this is the most idiotic thing I've ever seen regarding contracts: Until Friday, 30.000 - 50.000 contracts were traded each day, today it's only a bit more than 2000 until now, probably 5000 until this day is over. The Nymex is such a bunch of ***** In order to preserve their floor...

Will IB ever offer pit access for futures? I thought they were going to if they got

    - IB does offer Pit trading, but not for retail accounts - Pit traders don't want to be cluttered with 1-lot orders. - Man buys Ref - I stated in another thread that IB should re-think it's electronic policy for at least some contracts: It would be great if IB offered Pit trading for...

    Tamiflu futures anyone?

Absolutely scaring, if true. Any comments on that blog/article ? I hope it's just a hoax (I just read over it, yes, it's a joke. The thread should be moved over)

Should IB distribute Last/Volume data for IdealPro

My last poll regarding a non-java TWS attracted many voters. This one is more special: Should IB start to distribute "Last Price" and "Volume" data for transactions on IdealPro ? Currently, they do not. Obviously to prevent competitors and other parties to know how much business they do...

Finally, a stripped down TWS made possible with new build 854?

I had a quick look. I did not notice any decrease in memory useage. Looks it has no effect on the class loader and garbage collector. That's garbage, indeed.

    IB and computerization

IB does offer pit trading, but not on the retail side. However, we need a solution for futures options (Treasury, Spoo, all Commodities) and commodity futures (Nymex, Nyce/Nybot, any Metals). I see no possibility volume in these will go electronic any time soon (<5yrs)

Visual Studio 2005 Standard or Professional ?

prt, all backend I develop is 100% POSIX compliant and for frontends I use Qt. Does that answer your question? And yes, for developing I use the most productive environment, that's VS. Deployment is another question.

Visual Studio 2005 Standard or Professional ?

I know GNU GCC well and like it, but I'd say it's immature to assume this compiler suite can be compared to VS2005 (cl.exe and the IDE). VS2005 has things like intelligent background compilation and a superior debugger, nothing open-sourced even comes close yet. That's nothing unusual -...

Should IB program a non-Java TWS?

science, you seem to be a pro in humorless sarcasm. congrats as well. I'm off here until Mon.

Should IB program a non-Java TWS?

The poll does display a fully univocal result, but I think it's pretty easy to see the majority of users and volume would feel better with a non-java, native solution. I'd say, IB executives should at least discuss it. With the new unbundled comm. structure IB is now more&more a target...

Should IB program a non-Java TWS?

About the future of computing: I've never been a friend of MSFT. I based my work on Unix/Linux ONLY for years for that reason. But one cannot deny that they employ a few great minds now. The platform is very mature. Now the point is, even MSFT has acknowledged the time of endless...

Should IB program a non-Java TWS?

To express my personal thinking: I've been a programmer for more than 22 years. I know the "early generation". When I wrote code, it was always a figurehead for myself and my mind. It HAD to be as fast and efficient as it could be. No matter if it was some 8Mhz 8086 or a multiprocessor...

Should IB program a non-Java TWS?

I should have added that CPU + memory useage is especially an issue for users of mobile computers (less hardware and battery power gets depleted soon).

Should IB program a non-Java TWS?

As stated, IB could remain platform independent by using a cross-platform library, like Qt by Trolltech. Such source code would compile (with no or minimal changes) on any of the platforms mentioned.

Should IB program a non-Java TWS?

Hello fellow readers, I am unsure if such a poll was there in the past, but even if yes, time has passed and things changed. I want you to express your opinion, whether IB should create a new Trading System (Client Software) that is NOT based on Java, but a native Win32/64.Exe or a...
