Acrary is so overrated, the only difference

The difference between Acrary and you is the man has posted intelligent pieces of trading information. You blew your 8 posts handle when you decided to take a piss on a seasoned trader's leg - and a respected contributor to this site. Next time check your ego at the door, kid.

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

French clown Sarkozy said on national TV for his new year's speech that the G20 is thinking about taxing the financial speculation to finance the "poor countries". Hmm... I thought the whole Transaction Tax was about paying for wallstreet bailout? it seems the G20 members have different views...

    Euro news?

I see where you're coming from but I think that what we have here is quite the opposite, lower liquidity with lower volatility. For instance, check out the average true range on a daily or a 240mn chart. The current end of year/holiday rhymes with tighter ranges, lower volatility. Sadly. :)...

    Euro news?

Same as for Cabletrader, can you prove that today's volatility is extraordinary in comparison to the rest of the year? Thanks.

    Euro news?

Exactly. I'll stand corrected if anyone shows the contrary, ie, that today's move is abnormal in terms of volatility. :)

    Machiavelli Personality Test

I believe women would naturally accept and encourage morality because of their natural and obvious need to protect the offspring since a society with no moral puts the offspring in great danger - see the animal species. On the other hand, men would be more likely to challenge society's codes...

    Machiavelli Personality Test

I think the contrary is true. From what I heard, sociologists/biologists will tell you that morality is directly related to species evolution. In other words, humans/animals will naturally cheat, kill etc... while species (societies) that survive are the ones that succesfully impose a "moral"...

    Euro news?

Yep, it does look enough strong to go and test the 1.45 area. Maybe today. I wouldn't use the the word "definitely" though. Markets have a tendency to prove you wrong when you use that language. :) What you read was wrong, holiday trading is not more erratic than the rest of the year. Take a...

    Euro news?

what crazy upmove? EURUSD lost 900 pips in 14 trading days since the recent highs and only recovered about 200 pips off the lows at 1.42. Nothing spectacular. Actually, I might dump my last couple longs if we don't get above 1.45 quickly.

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

That would be true if they had a long term view on things. Unfortunately, their priority is to tap into people current anger, for their own short term ambition/self interest. Just like Brown with the coming elections. Surfing on this populist wave now is so MUCH rewarding in the short term...

Why does it seem there so little action now in market?

You're chasing the wrong man, Robin. NihabaAshi hasn't promoted his site. Actually he's been one of the few on this site that has shared valuable trading experience/knowledge for years. Exposing these previous snake oil jokers has made you touchy. Time to hit the batcave and chill out a bit.

What kind of percentage return do you get per day?

I disagree. A gambler would have the majority of his net worth in his trading account. A serious trader only a fraction.

    ES Journal Archive (2009 - 2010)

I think you missed the point. 1099 was not a point I picked randomly. It's the breakout point, or the last highest high if you prefer, ie the 10/20/09 Top where choppiness, whipsaws, etc are likely to shake out tight stops breakout players. That said, both exit strategies have pros and cons...

My question is now answered :) It's a nice trade, particularly the entry that put you immediately in the green. You probably saw where I was coming from with my initial post. I often deal with that type of trade on an intraday basis, ie breakout trades where the open profit at the BO point...

Should you have a set loss and gain for the day?

The question is not if you should have a maxloss for the day but how much it should be, especially if you're a discretionary trader. Setting the limit above your normal intraday drawdown is a good start.
