    Trading INVERSLY

Let me see what kind of response I get for this: Since so many people are losing money trading, did anyone try to do the opposite, that is when you want to buy - sell, when you want to sell - buy. Thus you should be making more than you lose. So, any experience doing this, anybody? :p

    Trading Treasury Futures

Is any one here trading bond futures like ZN and ZB. I am mainly interested to know how easy it is to scalp them, i.e. ZB moves in 1/32 that will give one $31.25 per tick as I understand. How liquid is it during normal hours and during off hours.

    Is Trading Worth the Effort?

Look at it this way. Even if it's hard, and even if you only make $100 a month (trading in addition to normal job of course), would you rather be $100 richer or not. I think any money you earn trading makes it worthy, how much worthy depends on you.

    Let's get real about returns

It looks easy looking at the chart. There are so many 1-2 point oscillations during the day. Except when you trade with your own $, you think more than twice before you press the place order button. No matter how successful you are papertrading, as soon as you switch to the real thing, your...

How do you trade the night session?

Is any one trading ZB? How liquid is it at night? Is it realistic to scalp it for 2/32? Do I understand it right that one tick gives you $31.25 minus $4.80 IB charges?

How do you trade the night session?

I trade HSI (or try to). That is Hong Kong Stock Index. Pretty liquid and moves around quite a lot. You just need to get an understanding of what moves it. It is unnerving though to see you position jump around 400-700 HKD. Divide it by 8 to stay calm.

    LOSSES vs GAINS

For those of you who are experienced traders with a long enough track to be able to make historical conclusions: How much do you make before your lose, i.e. for each $1000 you make how much do you lose? Do you go in like 2 steps forward, 1 step backward?

winning week turns into losing week

The worst thing about losing streaks is that it affects you psychologically. I mean by that that you become less averse to place trades that could turnout profitable. I found that I lose more by forgoing profits due to hot stove effect rather than to the actual losing trades that cause my...

    Trading Plan.

No. I today was a cooling off day so I did not trade, after two stupid trades yesterday. I lost because I violated my own plan of buying low and selling high. You know, the hot stove effect.

    Trading Plan.

My plan is to buy low and sell high. I am trying hard to stick to it, however sometimes I have to take a loss. I usually dont come to ET board if I am making profits. Being here is a psychological relief when I lose money on a trade or two.

Do you tell people you're a trader?

This is the funnies thead so far on ET. When people ask me how I am doing, I usually say "I will tell you at the end of the year when I file my tax return". :D

    "You've Insulted 10's millions workers"

So what is your economic plan, with specifics please? Oh please dont tell us we need to give more money to the poor. Welfare economy does not work.

    Moving to NYC

South Brooklyn is about 40-50 minutes from Grand Central, but even here you will only get a basement studio for 700 bucks. (I mean I am not saying you cant get anything cheaper, but that will be in bad neighborhoods). I Would recommend Midwood, Bensonhurst, Borough Park or SheepsShead Bay...

    Future Vision - ES

Yes. I am looking at 1015 as a critical point. I think if we reach 1020 intraday in the next few days that may signal continued upward trend. I usually dont buy at the top of a trading range, but today I was making long trades. I see 1040 as next resistance level.
