jeesh you guys never give up. It doesn't exactly take a brain surgeon to figure it out. I had it figured out after the llast (short) call. Basic strategy and trade qualifiers. It's really not that mysterious.

what chart timeframe do you make your trades on? 5 minute chart?

i dont know...kind of looks like one of those plastic budweiser cups not a can. wasn't he chugging OJ in the same scene? plus it was like 5 in the am....kinda early for beer unless you were hanging out with 'go fast charlie' all night.

well if you have many HFT computers trading with different owners....i find it hard to beleive they all use the same algorythym to trade. shouldn't through the laws of random mathmatics they create a neutral sort of balance negating their overall effect to a large degree?

after reading this post i realized DUH! thats how i make money with my strategy. i did not think i was predicting trends but in reality my strategy does exactly this. any working strategy does this in effect. the word 'trend' may need to be further defined. i guess you could say a successful...

and also the debt they carry on the cards they still do have is being charged interest at rates that are borderline criminal. not exactly enticing people to go out and spend. the credit industry creates mistrust and fear long term doing this. even if they lower interest people will be leary...

definately not. i'm not sure i would even bother trying. for me iv'e learned its better to just react to whats unfolding and forget trying to inject my opinion of where i think the markets going to go. thats when i usually get myself in trouble.

i agree to a point but i think that certain time frames have more significance. for example i know traders who use fibbonacci not because they beleive it really works but because so many other people do that they can have a cummulative effect. in that regard i personally think with some...

i agree. america unfortunately is on the wrong side of globalization. as the world comes together and wages/standards of living come into balance, as jobs are dispersed worldwide, americans i think will go through a generation of adjustment.

and unfortunately this might be the only sobering reality that wakes this country up.

well technically speaking (and simply) i would have to say an edge is any trading/investing strategy an individual or group of traders can dream up.....be it technical, fundamental, or other wordly etc....that consistantly generates profit at the rate of 51% (or better) gain to 49% (or less) loss.

Sir...do HF's use a cover tactic of light volume buying/selling over time, on certain battle fields (ES), to manipulate PA thus giving one impression before springing a trap, hoping to get an advantage over their enemy by superior position? In other words Sir...can they or do they move...

i'm no expert but i agree. i think statistically when testing anything...aren't you supposed to throw out the highest and lowest readings for discrepancies?

maybe the underlying trait is the level of impulse control. i would be interested in seeing a study to try and correlate the level of wealth to the level of impulse control.
