    Video capturing software

Anyone know software that can "video print screen", akin to setting up a video camera in front of the monitor?

While on the subject of reviewing plays, anyone know of software that can capture a video of the monitor that just saves it into an mpeg, like a "video print screen"? Would think that would come in very handy for reviewing on the short term.

Agreed, the times I force myself to sit through pullbacks in an effort to let winners ride always feel like getting my teeth pulled. And yeah, those 15-minute candles sure are easier to stare at than the 1-min "EKG of doom" line chart during the first few minutes or so hehe.

    Successful Trading

As usual everyone beats me to my own thoughts by the time I post. Or could it be I read other people's posts and then re-summarize their ideas as my own, conveniently thinking "wow, another sudden flash of insight!". Memento, anyone? Help!!:D :D :D

    Successful Trading

If someone is having difficulty letting winners ride, reviewing the day's chart can help put price movement in perspective. The "collapse" of a stock in the first 15 minutes usually winds up looking like a small jiggle on the 2-min by the close. Granted, all charts are much easier to trade...

    ARCA speed and ISLD...

Speaking of ISLD/ARCA, seems like it would depend on which platform you use that would determine the flexibility of certain ECN's. For example, Realtick shares same parent company as ARCA, and on the RT order entry system, ARCA is the only ecn where you can hide size, adjust (bump) prices, and...

    Highly selective trading

You may as well say it's self-deceptive if anyone thinks they can make money trading regularly. Nailing relative lows and tops of any given period is exactly what trading is all about. No one buys believing something will go lower, nor sells thinking it will go higher (yeah yeah, scaling etc)...

    Most consistant daytrading style

For us little guys its still a good idea to find where the large orders are being placed and ride coattails; a large fund that needs to buy/sell isnt gonna spend too much time shaking out the fleas. Though this sounds like a "passive" or derivative style, you can find good trades for size...

    Making 2 mio $ at Worldco ....

You may find the best pure level2/nyse individual scalpers at prop firms, but you can be assured the best equity traders working for billion dollar hedge funds will be utilizing far more than 'time & sales' to implement trades.

Any data provider give intraday (at least 5min) charts for bid/ask of options?

    Style & Personality question

If you're the kind who's capable of being completely unbiased about the names you trade and don't care where or how you pocket your gains, then trading intraday in a broad number of stocks or indices would be preferable. Being familiar with a great number of various stocks/sectors will increase...

    Who ARE You???

The 3-strikes-and-out is a great suggestion, blowout days almost always start small and then snowball out of emotional frustration. Why do most of us get frustrated from that first single loss? It's all due to what expectations we have. After a decent win streak, one's confidence...

Getting back to 25K in account

Waiting for optimum setups, mitigating churning, patience in letting the trade come to you -- these are all things that should be done whether you have < 25k or over 250k. Success breeds sloppiness, while adversity can be the greatest teacher (I posted this to remind myself more than anything...

    Highly selective trading

I would highly recommend NOT trying to pick individual stock bottoms -- it's just not the same situation as when the entire market is falling indiscriminately and you're fading mass sentiment more than anything else. Single stocks blow up almost daily and trying to game them is extremely...

    Highly selective trading

Curious, anyone out there watch the market on a daily basis yet only trade the 10 or so times a year that we get these kinds of panic intermediate bottoms/tops? Been trading for about 5 years now, and certain days (like today) just stick out in terms of relative risk/reward. A daytrader...
