TWS Hotkeys/Buttons & Quantity of Shares

Sorry for delayed reply - El_Cubano on DAS and Thinkorswim, if you have a hotbutton in the order montage/active trader for buy at bid, it uses the specific # of shares that is in the order entry montage. Vs. a key/button for each specific size. I prefer button / keys vs. traditional order entry...

TWS Hotkeys/Buttons & Quantity of Shares

Hoping someone on here can help. I can't figure this out but I would think it is possible. I want to create a hotkey or hot-button to buy at bid, however I do not use a specific share quantity amount (IE if I am trading TSLA, AMD, or GE etc). I noticed in some other platforms, it uses the...

Charts Taking Forever to Load in TWS

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I thought the IB TWS was professional type of grade for trading so that is what's a bit frustrating on the lag part. I did call to support, they had me increase the system memory, restart the system, and switch to the Beta version. None of which helped.

Charts Taking Forever to Load in TWS

Flipping through my watchlist in TWS (maybe 5-10 names), the lag to load a new chart can take 15+ seconds vs. the normal few seconds. Anyone else experiencing this?

IBKR Lite in TWS - Execution Experiences

So who here has actual first hand experience of IBKR Lite in TWS execution fills? I have searched around the interwebs without much talk on actual customer experiences.

IBKR Lite now has access to TWS

In TWS for the Lite folks there is no level 1 or level 2 data, you have to pay for that (as of now, thinking that might change). You do get the real time quotes though.

IBKR Lite now has access to TWS

Didn't notice this before. Appears lite users can use trader work station.

Charles Schwab in talks to buy TD Ameritrade, deal could be announced as early as today

I would be shocked if Thinkorswim is axed. It will likely be their main trading / research platform, it is one of TD's main assets. Keep in mind, Schwab wants (large) customer accounts for their asset management services (RIAs, Robos, etc) & interest earned. They don't make much revenue on the...

    Switching to lite

I found it interesting just saw an ad for Fidelity, that mentioned idle cash paid ~ 1.58% and they don't sell order flow. They are all going after each other :)

Any Traders Leaving IB for Commission Free Broker with Desktop Platform?

Looks like Lite is now available (was only early beta access prior). Will be moving to a competitor to try out. Maybe later on TWS will be included in Lite, but I am not holding my breath.

Really IB....really? Now you're just throwing branding and marketing at us...even your "pro" users?

Judging by how they set up a new offshore company, to (attempt) monetize data and separate it from the IB branding, I would guess it is here to stay.

Any Traders Leaving IB for Commission Free Broker with Desktop Platform?

Good comments - lots to consider. I will likely try out a retail/free broker, as they are already my backup for a month. I should have noted in the original post, I only use limit orders.

You could always use TWS stable until they push out the update for everyone. :sneaky:

Any Traders Leaving IB for Commission Free Broker with Desktop Platform?

With all these commission wars out there, I just looked at what I paid YTD on commissions in IB and it is scary. It use to be just the cost of doing business and I accepted that. I actively trade intraday and hold for several hours so cents off on the initial entry doesn't matter so so much...
