    IB TWS layout nightmare

I noticed Ticker Action came back in the left side position if I created a new tab, but the existing tabs stayed with my preferred adjusted layout.

    IB TWS layout nightmare

I had a similar issue on one account and here's how I solved: https://www.elitetrader.com/et/threads/ib-4-1-17-tws-update-tips-and-tricks-column-issue-solved.308248/ Not sure if it will work for your or not, but it's worth a try. The Ticker Action did not move back to the front of the quote...

IB - 4/1/17 TWS update, tips and tricks (column issue solved)

I'm not sure why I didn't see this in my main TWS, but in the API account, I had an issue similar to the unwanted Key column, only this time it was called Ticker Action. It's for the snapshot refresh on a quote row (rather than an order row) if you're not subscribed to all the feeds that make...

    IB TWS layout nightmare

You can probably remove it via the method I describe here for the new TWS update. I also figured out how to fix the column width issues, which had been bugging me all week. https://www.elitetrader.com/et/threads/ib-4-1-17-tws-update-tips-and-tricks-column-issue-solved.308248/

IB - 4/1/17 TWS update, tips and tricks (column issue solved)

If you haven't noticed, IB updated the default stable TWS to 963.3a as of this weekend, which caused things to look and act slightly differently. After a hour or two of fooling with it, I fixed 3 of my main annoyances from the "Layout Nightmare" thread. I recommend checking the following and...

    IB Fixed vs. Tiered

Yes. If you almost always provide, go with tiered.

    IB TWS layout nightmare

I was dealing with the column sizing today - got jinxed I guess. The issue is that when you resize a column on one tab, it often resizes the same column on some adjacent tabs (which is annoying when the others were "correct" and now are too big or too small). Then when you go to fix the other...

Interactive Brokers is a scam, 2-3x margin maintenance requirements

Dude - just preview your order if you want to know what the margin impact is going to be. I do this every time I'm trading a new product. It's easier than trying to find it on their website, which isn't definitive anyway. Once you hold it or have traded it recently, you'll get an alert if...

TOS extremly memory hungry and slow after recent update

I think they've fixed some of the worst memory leaks, but it was really close to unusable that first day. Not only did it burn all the memory and grind to a half after an hour or so, they had the order books sorted by something other than price by default (alpha by ECN name maybe?) and several...

Has anyone recovered money from stock ligitation lawsuits?

hopefully this is more relevant to traders, they tend to look at your net loss during the class action period and that's what determines what share of the settlement you get. So if you had some profitable trades and then got caught long when some bad news hit, they basically net your profits...

    IB TWS layout nightmare

Reload yesterday's settings file if you can't fix it yourself manually. Column layout can be a bit screwy at times, but if you get something you like, my advice is don't fool with it since it seems to get applied to other tabs sometimes even if that's not what you want.

    IB Quits options game!

The alternative is having a single exchange, which is simple. However, there's no check on that exchange overcharging everyone with high data fees and exchange charges given they have a monopoly. A highly competitive marketplace with many providers, ie exchanges, is usually the lesser evil.

Job ads and 3+ Sharpe ratios

Not to underestimate the value of a support system, but your claim depends on how much of the capacity you can fund yourself. If your choice is between your own $100k and keeping 100% payout on it vs running $5M of the funds money and keeping 30%, obviously the latter is better if you continue...

    IBKR tightening margin

I talked to them about this today. They had a list of effected accounts and how much the margin impact would be as of a few days back. In my case, there was an increase of about 0.2% higher maintenance margin, hardly worth worrying about. I don't have much in the way of options, and this may...

    IBKR tightening margin

I also got the message. Will try to figure out exactly what it means for me this weekend. Sounds like short options margin requirements may be going up, not sure if this impacts equities or ETFs also.

    IB Exposure Fee

Don't wonder - read the details yourself. Basically it applies to situations with lots of short options positions, especially OOTM ones where large losses relative to the mark to market value can occur if a dramatic adverse move happens. https://www.interactivebrokers.com/en/index.php?f=14718

Help! An big error was made on my gain/loss but the brokerage does not want to fix it! Attached imag

This happens a lot to me. For whatever reason, some group of trades, often all of them associated with a single stock, end up in the "basis unknown" bucket of the 1099. For these, you figure out what your actual purchase price was, and adjusted basis if appropriate, and then follow the...

Help! An big error was made on my gain/loss but the brokerage does not want to fix it! Attached imag

First, that's a ~240% return on the $33k, not just 70%. Second, 30k trades won't get you a thousand page 1099 unless the broker is using some hokey format. A few hundred pages maybe, that's what mine runs per active account. Lastly, if I was making 10%/month or whatever those numbers work out...

Help! An big error was made on my gain/loss but the brokerage does not want to fix it! Attached imag

You or someone else needs to figure out your actual pnl. If you closed everything for a month around year end, the wash sales, of which there no doubt were lots, should net out in the wash so to speak. How big was the 1099 wash sale number in total? Can you give us the total proceeds and...

Which Brokerages Accept Physical Stock Certificates for OTC: ALPP Stock DTC/DWAC in 2 Weeks

Start calling them up and asking about your specific situation. Hard to generalize for cases like this, but yeah, brokers don't really want to deal with certificates anymore and that goes double for OTC ones. At least it's not (yet) a penny stock - they hate those.
