Why do Conservatives Embraces Libertarians, but Neo-Liberals Don't?

Ive noticed that, and I have also noticed that they except for trefoil, remain strangely, quiet. You know, the constitution is an astoundingly simple document. How did we so badly screw up, life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness? The founders would be tragically amused at what we have...

Why do Conservatives Embraces Libertarians, but Neo-Liberals Don't?

And btw, I did not miss that you tried to tie me and my beliefs to Pinochet. Edit: I realize that you were not talking about me. Sorry. I may be a bit reactionary. Libertarians are used to catching it from both sides. You are saying Neo-Libs are akin to Pinocet. Well I hope not, because...

Why do Conservatives Embraces Libertarians, but Neo-Liberals Don't?

And, if anyone is confused, I believe in free markets. No one should have been bailed out. Free markets. If I fuck up, then the free markets will eliminate me. I have no issue with that. That is why i am a trader.

Why do Conservatives Embraces Libertarians, but Neo-Liberals Don't?

Thanks for your reply. Neo-Libs as I can see want government to tell us what we can and cannnot do. I have an issue with that. I don't have an issue with anyone. I believe that as long as you can afford your lifestyle, then live it. Neo-Libs, from what I can ascertain, want me to...

Why do Conservatives Embraces Libertarians, but Neo-Liberals Don't?

I made the mistake in years past, even very recently, of calling myself a liberal, not understanding that classical liberals are now what are called libertarians. After that, I have been able to get people motivated towards government. A lot of "liberals" are actually libertarians. This is...

Why do Conservatives Embraces Libertarians, but Neo-Liberals Don't?

Thanks for clarifying that Lucrum. More interesting is that yet another conservative has chimed in to clarify he is not a liberal. On this thread political ideologies have been brought up and discussed, as what should happen in a free republic. I read somewhere that Neo-Libs cannot freely...

Why do Conservatives Embraces Libertarians, but Neo-Liberals Don't?

It gets foggy, no disrespect to anyone in particular. I just noticed the left has not chimed in, and I cannot help but wonder why. Im pretty sure if they do show it will be with an ad hom. But, hey, I can hope.

Why do Conservatives Embraces Libertarians, but Neo-Liberals Don't?

Hmmm, I've noticed this in this thread. No Neo-liberals have responded. Conservatives have spoken up, other Libertarians have spoken up. No Neo-Libs. Hermit? You have the floor? 777? Lucrum? Bigdavediode?

Why do Conservatives Embraces Libertarians, but Neo-Liberals Don't?

In politics, the S-word is a lot like the C-word, or the N-word. But as this election cycle is pivotal, I am listening harder now than I would have in the past. Neo-Libs, now is your chance, I know you are lurking. Why do you not accept True Libertarians. We have no issue with gays, or...

    Conservatives invading the Tea Party?

Amen and AMEN. The war on drugs was not started to get the person who does lines on the weekends. It was started to get those people who shoot someone at random for five dollars to get a rock. And yes, that sentence was deliberately constructed to emphasize why the sentence on crack is...

    Conservatives invading the Tea Party?

What is the most of amusing of all amongst my ethnic groups is, today, if MLK and Malcolm X were both alive today, they would both be conservatives!! No, not Libertarians, but CONSERVATIVES. I laugh about this on a daily basis almost.

    Conservatives invading the Tea Party?

Rearden does not understand that I have no problem with the use of drugs. It is the BEHAVIOR that goes along with being out of control. That is another thread tho. Back on topic. I am a true Libertarian, the Tea Party is appealing to me. But I don't want ideologues coming along to fuck it...

    Conservatives invading the Tea Party?

I agree, the war on drugs has been an abject failure. Rearden don't come in here and try to use this against me as I will eat you alive. Our founders CLEARLY stated their opinion on foreign wars. And course, the people have the right to PEACEABLY assemble for the redress of grievances when...

Why do Conservatives Embraces Libertarians, but Neo-Liberals Don't?

Conservatives always tell me, that I am a conservative in "waiting". Liberals look at me with distaste. The only thing I can think of is that Libertarians will not subsidize bad behavior. Thoughts?

Who is he, and why should I vote for him?

    Liberal ... (in modern tems)

He cannot, that's why. Libertarians are by definition socially LIBERAL, and fiscally CONSERVATIVE. There is no home for true Libertarians at this point.

    Conservatives invading the Tea Party?

My politcal position: Abortion=pro-life personally. Pro-choice legislatively. Gays marriage=States rights State rights=okay, with the understanding that constitutional violations can be addressed federally. Taxes=flat Welfare=Disabled and returning vets, like it was meant to be...

    Conservatives invading the Tea Party?

It was something that I have been watching develop and it has accelerated greatly since O'Donnell knocked Mike Castle out of his seat. My big concern is that the Tea Party has no clear cut leadership, no clearly organized machine. The Neo-Cons.....well. So I am a bit worried about that...

    Conservatives invading the Tea Party?

I am news junkie, and it sounds like the conservative wing of the GOP is leaving to join the Tea Party. When Rush speaks these days, he is using the word WE when talking about the Tea Party and using THEY when speaking of the GOP. Is this good for the Tea Party?
