Thanks for the clip dkm. I found the original video, it is from the 'mon_0730' file from the January videos Jack did as a get together. This bar starts at the 1:04:39 point in the video. I went through the complete bar and did a manual prv calculation every 30 seconds and see nothing...

The following post from mak over a year ago gives some additional insight into prv. -Mike makosgu Registered: Aug 2004 Posts: 1164 04-10-06 12:48 PM Some comments as some of you get calibrated to the PRV bars. After a short period of time, you will recognize the...

The 1400 ES bar was a result of news. Specifically FOMC meeting minutes. One technique is to use bracket entries during possible volatile times. I stay abreast of major report times using these websites: http://quote.bloomberg.com/markets/ecalendar/index.html...

That's great to hear bundle. As far as profits go, remember trade execution will come later in the syllabus. It is a completely different skill set to learn when the time is right. Great explanation of prediction vs. anticipation. -Mike

Excellent post bundle! Here are my thoughts: We are learning to anticipate and not predict. What is the difference? We anticipate and 'know' what comes next. For example: a pt 2 must follow a pt 1, just as a pt 3 must follow pt 2. Another example: a BO comes after a FTT, just as a FBO...

Hey bundle, This was done in total hindsight as I've been away from intraday monitoring for a few days. I drew the 1510 bar as a pt 3 since I was looking for one after the pt 2 on the BO bar. Either way your reverse got you one the right side of the market. -Mike

Good job, you still identified the pt 3! And using only January's tool. So what if it took halfway to see it, remember the ES chart is the 'coarsest' tool and price at action points are more like action 'zones'. We are not going to see it is a pt 3 right at the first second the bar starts...

I think you mean the 11:25 bar on the 15th. I went back and reviewed my recording of the session and during the formation of that bar a few things stand out: The YM at the time 'peaked' out on decreasing black volume, then started down on increasing red volume. A wall appeared suddenly at...

Parsed answers: I think you are being WAY too hard on yourself. Take a look at bi9foot's bar by bar analysis, I went through about the first 2 hours and agree with his analysis. I think this is what Spydertrader had in mind with the exercise he mentioned. -Mike

How to 'know' I have a pt 3. There has been some discussion about trade execution previously in the journal. As I found out, trading with real or simulated money before one is ready is detrimental to learning each step, and mastering each step, before the next step is taken. The syllabus...

river- I show a FTT also on the 1030 bar, followed by a FBO on the 1035 bar. The 1050 bar is a PT 3 down of a steeper channel. It doesn't sound like you misread it at all. You could have reversed on the FTT and then reversed back when you saw the FBO, therefore staying on the right side...

Hey Gman, We are entering lunchtime in the circled area. We would anticipate a lower volume pace during this period. With a lower pace we also anticipate the slopes of our current channels are probably not sustainable. Also with the flaws showing up in the down channel, we might need more...

P1, Just a suggestion on your YM tick chart, you might want to use 'Tick (2)' instead of '5', so the lines match the 2 minute bars. -Mike
