i guess it would depend on the degree of armegeddon, but if ETFs became worthless you would have to guess it pretty severe. if you are protecting against breakdown of this scale, might it not make sense to diversify? a tiny percentage of the gold coin funds could buy an awful lot of tins of tuna!

Oanda has a risk calculator within their platform so you can punch in a position size and it will tell you what each pip will be worth. No minimums there and interest paid by the second. They are indeed a good outfit, the questionable part is the retail forex market imho... how many times...

interesting thread. learning to trade i racked my brains trying dozens of different patterns and looking at thousands of charts. i thought very rigidly about the patterns when i first started out and i used to get smoked very frequently. as i began to think more flexibly about the patterns...

Any suggestions as to how best to account for deposits and withdrawls while keeping a track of an equity curve? I am a longer term trader/investor - the idea is to build my account w/ deposits from my day job as well as growth from my positions, and build a track record at the same time...
