Risky Crypto Bet Blows Up Dennis Gartman's Retirement Account

Dennis has got the be the biggest idiot. You're telling me the only due diligence he did to invest a sizeable portion of the fund was to read the stocks name and that was it. That's all he did was read the name and he considers that enough due diligence. And he's managing other people's...

    Properly "spreading" with real spreads.

A lot of those spreads when they trend they can explode in one direction. We called them blowouts at our office. When they happen frequently enough the spread is no longer profitable as that 1 in 10 losers will cost you more than the 9 winners. Spreads have their good moments and bad moments...

The sale of the Chicago stock exchange

It started happening after expo 86. Its not like I had enough money to own 5 or 10 years ago. I'm a bit late to the game but that's because I'm young. And yes I agree with the second part of your statement I follow their movements carefully now but it kinda sucks investing outside of your home...

The sale of the Chicago stock exchange

Try having most of the real estate in your city owned by china. That's what happened where I live. It's unfair that they get the chance to own our assets but us westerners get virtually blocked out of their market.

    Properly "spreading" with real spreads.

I highly recommend TT Pro for trading spreads. Their built in charting is not as good as cqg's but it's not bad, just not as fast. TT pro starts at 400 bucks a month which is a good deal imo.

    Munger says Bitcoin is trash

How is that any different than a bunch of digits when I log into my internet banking? Or a bunch of "shares" in my brokerage account.

Quick idea, if it doesnt work its cool.

Well yes but it's too much work and sometimes people rarely post but I can tell they're the real deal. Meaning anything h posts from then on will be seen to me as credible. Also you can write notes like "works at so and so" etc. I've been wanting something like that for a while now.

Quick idea, if it doesnt work its cool.

A better idea would be a little text box that opens up where you can type in information on a user that only you can see. That way you can add notes like good trading calls or ideas etc. Or full of shit etc. Its hard to remember who's who's so we need an easy built in database.

Is it possible to turn 25.000 to 2.000.000 in a day ?

Yes with some kind of options play and getting ridiculously lucky but the probability of you guessing right is pretty much zero. Also you would loose your entire 25k in a week because you only have enough ammo for 1 trade.

Amazon's Bezos one-eighth of the way to being the world's first Trillionaire

Uh huh right go learn something about labor conditions 100+ years ago. There were no unions, no minimum wage, no overtime, 2 week vacation... LOL. There was extreme profiteering at the expense of the poor working class who had no rights or voice. Why do you think they call them the robber barrons.

Amazon's Bezos one-eighth of the way to being the world's first Trillionaire

Maybe but I was thinking more like he pulls a bill gates and cashes out eventually and becomes an investor in the broad economy. Compound his wealth by a few decades and it will grow to the hundreds of billions assuming he doesn't give it away.

Amazon's Bezos one-eighth of the way to being the world's first Trillionaire

He's still a fucking long ways away. Rockefeller's wealth peaked at 300 billion. And that was the Gilded age. It was easier to amass ridiculous fortunes on the backs of near slave labour. I bet he won't surpass him. Mark Zuckerberg however I could see that happening. He's young enough.

Poker players make the best traders?

Disagree. In trading you can loose more than you predetermined stop loss. In poker you can never lose more than your current bet. Probabilities are far more predictable in poker than in trading.

Poker players make the best traders?

This has already been debated numerous times and the answer is that traders make good poker players but poker players do not necesarily make good traders. The reasons why are as follow: 1. Good poker players can be good at reading their opponents and bluffing. You can't do that in trading...

Is it too late to become a daytrader at 30?

The fact that you asked the question makes me think you don't have the right mindset for this kind of job . Most people that succeed in this line of work don't doubt themselves and ask "gee can I really do it?" Id say get a real job and practice trading in your spare time.

    Closing out crypto day trades

The way it works in most crypto exchanges is you deposit USD and your accounts is credited with USD aka your balance. You can just close out your btc day trades and sit in USD overnight. It's no different than closing out a stock position to sit in usd overnight. The real risk is whether the...
