    Saxo Bank Has Screwed Me

To be fair today was mad. Cable was 1.9990/92 when BNP put a 1.9922 offer in the system. Just typical of todays chaos! Incidentally I don't like ODL but that guy could have got 99% of his money back - Currenex will break trades that are obviously off market - it has happened both for and...

ECN triggered 100 pips away from limit...help

The ECN should cancel the trade at do it at market price at the time in accordance with the forex association guidelines. Any reputable ECN will do this. What I dont understand is say the market was 231.1-231.20 at the time then whatever buy limit order you put in above 231.20 you...

    Fxmarketspace open for trading?

Depends on definition of retail. In the UK only 'professional' or 'intermediate' (as defined by the FSA) can open FX accounts anyway. Anyone who meets those criteria would be able to trade on marketspace via a PB or quasi PB. As of now the liquidity is nothing like as good as Currenex and...

    Fxmarketspace open for trading?

If an individual trades decent size then they will be able to access it via their PB, as the PB will essentailly be the client not you. I am at a conference in London on Thursday where both FXall and marketspace are apperently showcasing their new products so hopefully should know more then.

    Prop Firms in Chicago

I am based in the UK but want to set up a remote account in Chicago. All I essentially need is to be able to remote access a trading terminal at the prop shop. They would have to have access to the US future exchanges via a private lease line and not via the internet I am not looking for...

Currency Futures vs. Spot Forex - Why Spot Forex?

Funnily enough I don't disagree with much about what you wrote! If I can clarify the 'madness' comments. The reason I wrote that was the guy seemed to imply people only used spot because they could not afford futures in terms of margin. Of course that might be true for some but this amount of...

TT Certainly is for futures and I believe they also access hotspot but have never used Hotspot this way.

Currency Futures vs. Spot Forex - Why Spot Forex?

Without wishing to do through all the old arguments- and both venues have their relative merits/demerits- your explanation is madness. The interbank spot fx traders tend not to use futures at all. I don't think the reason is they cant open up an account with $1000 so I dare say there are...

FXCM sucks. I am sick of slippage in fills.

The problem with futures is the lack of liquidity. There is far more on the reputable ECNs and hopefully this will only improve with marketspace and the fxall offerings.

Share a keyboard and mouse without sharing the monitor

I have a related question please. I use various PCs/screens for trading. Now I want to set up the layout on screen A for PC A to be identical to the layout on screen B for PC B. The purpose of this would be so that if I click say sell on screen A then I would like it to automatically click...

    Fast Market at NFP?

No they are not. Say cable is 40/42 and you want to sell. You send a limit order at say 30. You therefore get filled at the best bid up to a worst price of 30. If it is lower than 30 then you get nothing. You therefore can still asses the trade by taling into account risk and reward. If...

    Fast Market at NFP?

how can you control your entry price and hence your risk?

    Fast Market at NFP?

Never ever use a market order during a fast market esp after news. You have no way of controlling your risk and if all bids are pulled you could be filled a long way from the 'real' price. Trade using a limit order.

"Rogue Trader" Nick Leeson plans comeback

Can't believe how long ago Barings was. The London office knew all about the margin calls though - the reason I know - we were lending them truck loads of short dated yen and they were paying top of the market! In fact our limit was full as I read the story in the Sunday Times! Funnily...

Currenex, HotSpotFxi, Lava - Pimps for the Banks? - No Scalpers

There could be choice if hotspot allow you to refuse partial fills but cant remember as I always allow them on all platforms.

Currenex, HotSpotFxi, Lava - Pimps for the Banks? - No Scalpers

banks cant trade with each other on currenex. Not sure about the others but cant recall seeing choice on lava or hotspot.

Currenex, HotSpotFxi, Lava - Pimps for the Banks? - No Scalpers

I have had Hotspotfxi for about a year and a half. I do use it but the spreads are not as good as lava or currenex and hence my volume on that platform is the least of the three . Spreads on hotspot are rarely choice or even 2 pips on say cable.

Currenex, HotSpotFxi, Lava - Pimps for the Banks? - No Scalpers

The problem I find with HotspotFxi is the spreads are wider than both lava and currenex in say 10-20 mio. Also their narrowest spread is usually only good for 1 or 2 mio. Fxrelease - I am not sure what hubs you are comapring with but in my experience I totoally disagree with you about spread...
