MB Trading - Spot FX Execution Failure

I was talking about what I was paying for MBT/EFX. I pay $15/20 per million now for other platforms. For that I get a combination of Currenex, lava, hoTspot and EBS. I know other brokers who have offered me a 'cheaper' deal but I am happy with paying that. I am a firm believer in everyone...

MB Trading - Spot FX Execution Failure

I had an acoount with them a few years ago and thought the $25/$30 I wasp aying was steep - $50 is insane. I closed my account within a week as the platform was unstable - I had read somewhere that they said problems had been sorted.

Should Gordon Brown be our Treasury Secretary?

I will celebrate when he's dead maybe. How the useless **** can try and gain any credit out of this mess is beyond me.

    Currenex this week

its been okay to be fair - bit wider than normal but that is fine. Lava been better but not so much size available and I don't like the platform as much (not single click etc) EBS also been ok on euro doll and doll yen but awful on cable, as always!

    A serious discussion on EUR/AUD

This discussion shows why there is a market - there are so many different ways to trade. I have bloomberg, reuters, market news and another news terminal as well as a squawk and cnbc on permanently. I could not trade any other way. I haven't had an overnight position or traded on pure...

    MF Global safety

Your biggest threat is a few big clients blow up. Your cash is not segregated from the other clients, and hence say one client blows up owing more than he had on account then either the broker will make up the shortfall from their own funds or the prime broker can use other clients funds in...

    A serious discussion on EUR/AUD

Not really. Look at dollar yen in about 1997. Fell about 25% in 24 hours I seem to recall.

    Currenex this week

Has anyone elses currenex seemed very slow this week, after the "upgrade"?

    Trading seminar Garuanteed profit

I am not knocking you so please don't take this the wrong way. But you say you can't really up your size as the strategy is really at its max. Would you therefore really want even 10 people trying to copy it, let alone say 100, if your seminar was well attended?

When should I buy a Bloomberg Terminal

There is a simple answer but not sure it will help. You should buy one when it will you make more money from having it, than the cost of the hire. Only you can answer that as it will depend on amongst other things the size you trade and the style.

Oanda - Add Your SCAM SCREENS Here

I have accounts with various ECNs but have a small account with Oanda for strat positions and other times I see fit. I am staggered at its policy. Throughout the last two weekends it has been possible to trade all the yen crosses at the price of the Friday close. This despite all the Fannie...

Why did the dollar go up today?

It didnt! All the euro/yen and stg/yen carry trades got tanked. Hence dollar rallied against euro and stg but tanked against yen

With BAC buying MER, MS and GS next...

Its great stuff for traders. Reminds me of all the weak cuurencies being picked off in Europe during the 1992 devaluations. That only stopped when people lost money trying to devalue the french france which in the end proved futile.

LEH is a great franchise and Wall Street will not let it go the way of BSC

looks dire -fed requests banks to open special trading session on leh counterparty risk in order to try and minimise damage if leh's goes into liquidation today. Thats my brief summary of the reuters headlines!

    UK FSA registration

If you are doing it for one friend then although it is a grey area you probably don't need to be regulated. If you want to be regulated then you can either set up a regulated entity but this is expensive not only initially (FSA costs and legal fees) but also the ongoing costs. I can't see how...

Is it possible to earn on a life working on forex

Trading fx full time has been my job since 1989 and as a 'local' since 2002. For what its worth I rarely trade fx futures but I appreciate each trader has different preferences. My current platforms of choice are EBS, Currenex, Hotspot fxi and Lava.

London, UK is not cool anymore - I'm leaving

Can't believe Cabletrader mentioned Australia and culture in the same sentence! As for pubs/bars then it is guilty as charged. Indeed in order to boost our medal chances in the 2012 Olympics there will be a load of new games introduced, all pub based. It is no coincidence we are world champs...

London, UK is not cool anymore - I'm leaving

In all honesty I still love it but have lived here for 40 years. I don't think it has changed much at all in the past 10 years. There are some areas I would be careful walking through at midnight but very few really. Yes there is a Russian influence now but to be honest that is really only...

    Share Bloomberg Terminal Fees

I think Bloomberg is a great serice and fully worth the $1,800 a month. But if you reckon the fx or futures prices dont move until the figures are called on Bloomberg TV you live in dreamworld.
