Beware of Optionetics Bait and Switch

Don't worry, losing the $995 will be the cheapest part of that "investment" if you decide to persue it further.

    Opening Orders - 2008

Prop firm would probably only have safeguards for total number of shares in one issue (maybe 5,000) and total buying power (maybe 20x account size). You, however, should be able to set maximum number of shares per order on your DOM, but I'm guessing you would have that set in the 1,000 to...

    Opening Orders - 2008

Wow, that's a real "bad beat". I know it's no consolation, but I have made about every mistake in the book at least 10 times or more. It happens and you will learn how to handle each of the mistakes that you have made or will make in the future. Obv it's too bad this was such a big one...

    Frustrated Ninja User...

Ninja has a lot going for it, but you must remember, it is still in its early stages. When I say early stages, I am considering the following: 1) You must be familiar with C# and be willing to become fairly comfortable with it. 2) They do not have a large amount of users that can post...

    Opening Orders - 2008

Don, Make sure you tell all of the newbies: When it's a winner, "you should have had more"....when it's a loser, "you should have had less". Trading is all about making money while making the "wrong" decision. If you're a perfectionist, then you may need to reconsider. lol

yesterdays opening day volume on the CME YM?

For your future use... Put up a chart of the YM. Then put the volume under it. You will see the volume for every bar. I'm sure that your charting service has this option. If not, there are many free ones on the web.

    Anyone Trading the YM Today?

YM volume is probably dropping very fast because: 1) Live quotes are no longer free 2) A lot of small traders probably didn't realize that they needed to be subscribed after the new year to pay for quotes 3) A lot of small traders will stop trading it when they realize the quotes are...

    Anyone Trading the YM Today?

I was just thinking about how this was such a "low stress, easy to trade" day when I came across your thread. I have shorted the ES twice today at the PP, 1463, for a couple of easy handles each. Even if you trade the YM, use the ES PP's and proceed. Low stress and profitable.

Raised fees will kill the YM

It's quite possible that there will be one electronic platform in the future and one fee for all of the issues that trade. ie: a combined fee that will include all of the products. I just don't understand why the cme would want to stymie the growth of the ym and zg rather than nurture it.

Raised fees will kill the YM

It looks like there will be no free live data for the YM and ZG from the CBOT. Since these vehicles are getting thinner and thinner by the day, I wonder why the CBOT/CME would want to just kill them altogether. I don't trade either very often, but it seems silly to raise the fee's from...

    The Opening Orders Thread

okay, thanks. I suspected that your exits were a combination of profit targets automated and manual. Using stops would seem to be a recipe for getting bumped out with maximum slippage. Good Holiday to all.

    The Opening Orders Thread

I guess that is a no comment on this post? Don, Since you brought up your automated account, would you be willing to share the exit and money management aspect of it? I think we all know that "price improvement" can work both ways and it seems like using stops in a total automation mode...

    Hidden Divergence Trades

This post reminds me of the movie "A Beautiful Mind". All of the signals you posted were simple flag patterns in a trending market that popped up to the 20ema. Your method is simply to "look for a flag pattern back into the 20ema of a trending market" and when the stoch turns, then take...

    The Opening Orders Thread

Don, Since you brought up your automated account, would you be willing to share the exit and money management aspect of it? I think we all know that "price improvement" can work both ways and it seems like using stops in a total automation mode would get you a lot of horrible slippage on...

data feed delays and the fomc

cash, that is good for quotes, but when my data feed is locked up, usually the transmission of orders is, too. ie: Trade Station locked up, thus you can't send in orders nor receive fills. IB gets moving fast, orders, etc are unreliable. I specifically, am flat going into the fmoc, but...

data feed delays and the fomc

Just curious... Did anyone NOT have delays in data or NOT have execution problems immediately after fed announcement. If NOT, then what data feed and order execution system (broker) are you using? Thanks

NO really, why are you here? Shut up and trade!

I agree. I have solved quite a few problems by looking through the forums. Everything from video card help to automated trading info. It is actually quite a good place to review when I have an issue that relates to trading. Of course, the "how to make money" posts are for the...

I thought ER2 was switching to ICE?

This is just one small part to look at. You might want to consider: 1) bid and ask is $10 on er vs $5 on ym. thus each er trade can cost you $5 more than a trade on the ym. 2) what is the dollar value of the ranges that you trade and are looking to trade 3) how much risk do you need...

Yes, I can't get anymore shorts off either. I am going to start covering my shorts down here (same with wamu). No reason to be a pig. lol
