Bid is buyers, Ask is sellers ???

Digs, There's a lot of good advice in the responses to your question here. Do think about this. If RIMM is 20.10 x 20.20 and moving fast upwards, then I'd say the prints are going off around 20.20 as the buyers are taking out the offers. So, if you bid, say 20.11, you become the inside...

    Excel link for VWAP

Redi offers it as a DDE field in their API. I believe that QCharts does also through QLink, but you should double check that.

    Trade Management Software Selection

Amtrak, Please state whether you have any affiliation with ZeroLine. With only three posts, I have to say I'm a bit suspiscious. It's hard to tell if that's just your first topic of interest, or if you are pumping the product without paying ET for that privilege....

    Don's Openings, Part 6 2003

Yeah, it might get a bit crazy with buyers rushing in. What's scariest is the potential for follow through buying. I'm going to watch the futures on Sunday night, as well as the overseas markets. It may be that the buying will already be peaking, but who knows. My inclination at this point...

Do you scale out of your trades?

I can see making a case for not scaling with very thick futures contracts like the bonds or the minis. That makes some sense. It's painful, and I've had this happen much too often to be sitting on the bid, watching trades go off there, then have the market take off without you....still sitting...

    Short Sale Rules - NYSE

Everyone is right in this one. Not necessary to start calling names. It seems that Jeff wants to look this up and try to help. Ebo, I know you were joking in your second post, but it does come across a bit edgy. burnin's OK to defend jeff's post. Let's leave it at that..... My take is...

    bullets/conversions

Wow! $1500 in your example works out to $1.50 per share for a month long conversion. That's obscene. It works out to around 7.5 cents per share per day. Way too much. Check out Don's posts for the Stock Allocation System...

    The New Brokerage Model....coming soon?

**Cross posted from another forum, as I believe the content is very applicable here as well ** Hi Vaquero, Your idea of a business model sounds like a good one at first blush, but I'd like to view it another way. As you've probably seen going through this thread, traders employing the...

    Don's Openings, Part 6 2003

Hi Vaquero, Your idea of a business model sounds like a good one at first blush, but I'd like to view it another way. As you've probably seen going through this thread, traders employing the Opening Strategy are probably making anywhere from 0.5 cents/share to 3.0 cents/share in a very good...

    Don's Openings, Part 6 2003

Don, I too got bitten in HPQ this morning. Either you exited really quickly or stayed with it as it returned. I started taking pieces off as it sold against me, and finally finished covering at the bottom... <groan>... figuring I'd rather be out and buy it back at a lower price...

    Don's Openings, Part 6 2003

More fills than usual today at 13. 8 winners, 5 losers. Net was 36 cents, which works out to 0.91 cents per share traded. I had a personal record for OPG volume today, given all of my fills, at just under 70,000 shares traded. (That's a lotta shares for me...). Paying mostly commission...

    Shorting stocks

It's true, yes, as far as married puts being used for bullets, they have been eliminated. I don't know of any enforcement actions yet, but as far as I know, any firm that used to offer them doesn't any longer. So, it's unlikely that traders can even get them, let alone use them illegally...

I'm not sure how it compares for timeliness and accuracy compared to what you are using, but check out Yahoo! under the "key statistics" page. Here's Citicorp, for example: http://finance.yahoo.com/q/ks?s=C The enterprise value, dated today, is footnoted as follows: 3 = Data derived from...

    Don's Openings, Part 6 2003

I'm totally in agreement with you lescor. I did the same. As soon as I saw the SPoos tanking, I dumped all of my orders. Yeah, those that stayed made money, but I'm inclined to agree; this was an undefined risk, and I'm not fond of those. That could've been the beginning of a giant sell off...

    REDI+ Servers

I've been using the 10/9 version for two days now. I have to say, it's sweet! I like some of the new features, like the alerts. Performance and speed has been on par with the earlier versions, and nothing like the CPU hogging of the June vintage releases. In fact, I do believe, it's...

    REDI+ Servers

Sweet! I have 9/26/03 QA on the main, and 3/27/03 QA on my second account. I understood that the 9/26 hit only limited servers, so I rolled back, and I've been avoiding that one. I'll need to call and get enabled for the 10/9 version. 3/27 has been rock solid, so it stays as my fall...

    REDI+ Servers

There's a feature on Redi that allows you to "force" two servers when you connect. I have *NEVER* been able to get that to work. I'd be interested to hear if anyone else has... The SLK help desk has told me that feature doesn't work, but, hey, I've got lots of things working on mine that...
