    Easy to say when everything goes smoothly. I don`t know how long is your experience, but through the years I`ve had some exciting situations. Then time of reaching your broker on the phone may be critical.

    Agree, many traders trade in many areas, also using complex (i.e. futures - options) strategies. Even spreads or pairs don`t exactly fall in equity category, do they ?

    There is no easy answer to this question and I would not recommend any mechanical approach to this concept. In fact managing losses seem to be ironically easier to manage then open profits. Try to calculate profits as multiplier of volatility i.e. average true range. You should get your results...

    Depends what you do. My average is 3-2 weeks since I use complex strategy which puts me into shorts. If your question is about losing value due to time decay the fastest goes from about 4 weeks before expiration.

    DD distribution and modelling is IMHO the most important aspect of trading. Well done tells you when to stop. There are some rules coming mostly from undestanding whole process of trading but there is no rule of thumb, just general tips.
