    Anyone watch Fast Money?

I used to like it, but it's become quite theatrical lately. Still better than Cramer's trash.

"Rogue Trader" Nick Leeson plans comeback

I see nothing wrong with the guy wanting to make a comeback. Most traders trade their best following a blowout. (And most blowouts follow a hot streak) OK, his was a slightly larger than average blowout, but the bottom line will be whether he gained discipline from his experience or not.

    Predictions?

Suckers rally early on with a selloff by the end of the day. I think the DOW will correct to the 11,600 to 11,700 area. It will take out 11,700 but stop falling before 11,600. Not today of course, but within this correction. IMHO :)

"Fast Money" nicknames are too much?

These CNBC girls are just journalists, if that. The important question? Who are the three most shagadelic? 1) Liz Clayman (o)(o) 2) Becky Quick 3) Rebecca Jarvis....(knocked Maria off my list):D

What's a the best trading platform today?

It was JUST a thought, a theory if you will. I have no actual opinion, good or bad, about IB.

What's a the best trading platform today?

I agree, there are a lot of IB users here. I think that's because there are a lot of futures traders here trading the minis. I don't trade futures and I am very comfortable with the Elite platform. It's totally customizable.

What's a the best trading platform today?

The answer will obviously depend on two things, what will you trade and how will you trade it (time frame). I use Scottrade Elite to trade stocks and options and I think it's great for day trades, swings and position trades. Scalping is hit or miss so I wouldn't try it with any kind of size...

    I need some good material

First of all, How To Make Money in Stocks by William O'Neil is not crap in my opinion. But I do not think it is a good beginner's book. It's a must read if you want to understand the contents of Investors Business Daily. But that will come later. If you wan't to get a good start from reading...

I want to raise $10 million to trade...

Ripley, Have you read the book "Pitbull"? It's Marty Schwartz's story of going from successful trader to hedge fund manager. Only to realize it's more than it is worth. If you still decide to do it I wish you the best of luck.

Chart patterns of today vs yesteryear...

Chart patterns are more than just a map of where the price has been. They are actually imprints formed by human behavior in the market and once understood and recognized can be used to the trader's advantage. It's not as if someone is out there saying "this year we will form a head and shoulders...

    Book on 1929

PBS did a special on the crash a couple of years ago. The subject is very interesting. It too mentioned all the major players and described the mass hysteria to "get into the market". They said Groucho Marx was dumping every penny he had into the market and that he, and most everyone at the...

Possible Breakout Tomorrow 2/1 in Citigroup?

I use Scottrade Elite and the pic I posted was captured well after the close showing the daily volume at 7.3 million. Yahoo has it at 18+ million Tomorrow scottrade will reflect the true volume. I don't know why this happens. Anyway, after reading Bulkowski's description of a pennant, the...

Possible Breakout Tomorrow 2/1 in Citigroup?

Any of you technicians see this as a flag or pennant breakout? see attachment Ignore today's volume bar, Scottrade seems to lag a day on volume. Yahoo has the volume at average but most of the volume came in the last 5 minutes of the day. see url...

    QQQQ's Current Trend

Looking at the chart I posted: The yellow line being the old trend. The blue line being the current trend. I would look for a bounce at the blue line followed by a higher high than $45.40. Without the higher high I would expect the red line to become the new trend. Of course, if the price...

When does one start trading big

Marty Schwartz gave this advice in the book "Market Wizards"; "Don’t increase your position size until you have doubled or tripled your capital. Most people make the mistake of increasing their bets as soon as they start making money. That is a quick way to get wiped out.”
