You don't need to keep an open mind, he simply can't.

You're on the road for the Nobel Prize in Economics... ...and perhaps the one in Physics as you just demonstrated how easy it is to go against the entropy principle... :D

    Predicting randomness

You can interpret it as you want, that's more philosophy than real maths. Usually axioms are set AFTER having developed or experienced a theory, whatever in maths or physics. They correspond to a comon observation of certain facts. But you can take whatever axiom you want and develop a theory on...

    That's why they are 'axioms'...

    Predicting randomness

I don't agree with supply and demand theory. Actually I make most of my money in trading disagreeing with this economical principle.

First clever post I find on this thread. Question : you are talking about linear, two points, correlations. What about the rest of all possible correlations ?

Incredible, my horoscope predicted it : Gemini : you will be very sarcastic in the next few days. I'll have to believe in horoscopes from now on...

    The death of Microsoft

That's exactly what I say. For the moment being, M$ is unable to live on something else than windows and office.

Should IB program a non-Java TWS?

Isn't 100$/month the minimum fees you must have in commission, using FIX being free ?

Should IB program a non-Java TWS?

What do you care about java or anything else ? If speed is a real issue, the only thing you need is a direct line between your own trading software and IB's servers. Discussing questions of speed on a graphical interface is just a nonsense. IB : we need an API not relying on an unreliable...

    The death of Microsoft

Sorry, but have a look a the numbers, and you will perhaps understand better : M$ is UNABLE for the moment to make money out of its traditional business (look at the mobile devices, and xbox products, and ask yourself how much MSN costs and how much it brings....)

    The death of Microsoft

I think the company 'M$' will stay, but not for what we know it nowadays. They will have to rethink themselves very quickly (I would give a 5 years time horizon). Just imagine if linux or/and macintosh take 25% of their business, this would really cancel all their earnings and force them to...

    The death of Microsoft

That's quite a typical answer. Don't you think this means that M$ has a dominant position on the market and as such, the only growth it can obtain is the growth of computer users, while the others are taking M$ market share ?
