    Iterative Refinement

Thanks for the reply. I guess I'm taking literally the formations doc someone posted that says if you're in a pennant or a lateral formation, you should not be trading, should be sidelined (unless you're at expert level). But it seems the concept of pennant is we usually see decreasing...

    Iterative Refinement

My current most consistently losing trades are when I have a pennant forming on decreasing volume. I patiently exit, and wait for price to break out of the pennant on increasing volume. So it breaks out, PRV is up, I enter long, then the bar immediately heads south in the other direction. So...

    Iterative Refinement

When you say YM off peak, do you mean declining from the previous bar, or it has peaked in this bar and now declining ?? Or are you referring to the gaussian peak (or trough ?) ??? Thanks for the info.

Jack Hershey – MACD and Stochastics helpers for 123 and FTT's

Also wondering, on the 50 line xover of the fast stoch, should you wait for the bar to close or not ?? On my platform, it's constantly calculated, and will waffle back and forth sometimes right on the 50. If you wait until bar close, then it might make a big jump, and price has already...

Jack Hershey – MACD and Stochastics helpers for 123 and FTT's

So we've got fast stoch xover on the 50 line, divergence is looking good, and after a period of time, the lines suddenly turn convergent all over the place. Is this a signal for change (seems to me), meaning exit the market, and then re-enter later when the trend resumes, based on our...

Jack Hershey – MACD and Stochastics helpers for 123 and FTT's

I understand the logging, but I don't quite understand this part of it. Presuming 1-FTT, 2-BO, then is 3 LTL ??, 4-VE, is 5 a non-dom retrace ? Not quite getting this, wondering if someone could post an example of this.

Jack Hershey – MACD and Stochastics helpers for 123 and FTT's

My bigger problem is coming out of the iceberg of the chart that was posted. You come R2R out of the iceberg, going short, but there was nothing there. Good clue was the MACD less than 1.0, -1.0, and the volume was decreasing. So if you're short at the R2R, when/what is the clue you...

Jack Hershey – MACD and Stochastics helpers for 123 and FTT's

I guess the 20 sma, FBO of the RTL, and increasing red volume give you a clue it's time to reverse. The stochs just help with the anticipation. I've also been going through the older Hershey stoch thread. Pretty informative. With the MACD at .4, you're obviously in a low volatility...

Jack Hershey – MACD and Stochastics helpers for 123 and FTT's

I realize that stochs are not a red light/green light indicator. But you can't deny that on a dominante traverse where the slow stoch is pegged, a cross back to/past the 20/80 line is a pretty good indicator that the dominant traverse is over for now. But on non-dominant traverse, the...

Jack Hershey – MACD and Stochastics helpers for 123 and FTT's

I'm having a little trouble on one interpretation of the Stoch. Assume we're in a dominant traverse of a down channel. The slow stoch is pinned at the bottom. Then the slow stoch starts to move up, crossing the 20 line. An indication of change, so exit, and reversal if trading SCT...

Software Used to Trade Jack Hershey Methods

So it sounds like quotetracker supports str/sqz stuff. How about DOM capabilities ? Just beginning to take a look at this stuff. Thinking about using IQfeed with quotetracker to do this stuff. Anyone know if iqfeed has a DDE interface, or quotetracker for that matter ? Been doing...

    Bashing profitable traders..

Not only do I read and follow journals like Spydertrader's, I write everything down, take notes, ask questions. Lots of ways to trade the market. When you're trying to learn trading techniques, these journals are invaluable. Paper trading several of these strategies right now...

    Bashing profitable traders..

Yup, guess so. But wish I could just pick a few brains to understand the strategy some people are using. They'll reveal a little, then come in all the mud slinging. Hell, I think there are a lot of successful ways to trade. Would rather see more of the "this is how it works for...

    Bashing profitable traders..

I think there are gems and insights by real traders on these forums. Problem is, they get beat up so bad, they don't reveal much. Give some insight into how they trade, followed up by 200 posts about how it won't work. To find the diamonds, got to wade through tons of crap.

okay, open minded post to bears & bulls alike. Based on my economics studies at university a gazillion years ago, unless you have deeeeeeflation, isn't there a constant, upward bias on stock prices and/or the asset classes they represent ? As the money supply expands (m1, m2, m ??)...
