Fed Governor Jerome Powell's Speech at Catholic University

This tomfoolery was brought to you by a shill (read: government/academic employee) posing as a trader. As always, the Fed appreciates your unquestioning support.

Why are oil prices so low?

Thanks for the apolitical response, then. Anyway, your drivel did nothing for the discussion. Speculators supposedly lie and talk up the price of oil, but they don't talk it down? As if no one profits on the short side. And as if you can prove such an assertion. At least you proved my...

Why are oil prices so low?

In other words, "I'm one of those 'blame the evil speculator' guys so here's a rambling paragraph to make my point!" Extreme is in the eye of the beholder. The consumer sees gas prices-as-oil, and they're the lowest in 4 years in some places. If Eric Holder still had his AG job and wasn't...

Why are oil prices so low?

The funny part...there are no threads about "evil speculators" driving down the price of oil. I love how free market haters only complain when markets are at one extreme but not the other.

    True Heroes of Ferguson

They're defending businesses, black-owned and white-owned, when the police aren't around (standing down?). This is what the 2nd Amendment is really about (no, it wasn't about the National Guard)...

Police Lied -- Mike Brown Was Killed 148 Feet Away from Darren Wilson's SUV

So is the Washington Post now part of a grand conservative conspiracy as well? Two of them were recovered close to Wilson’s car, conforming to his testimony about his firing two shots there (vol. V, 226:4). After that, the remaining 10 casings were recovered adjacent to (or behind) the path...

Police Lied -- Mike Brown Was Killed 148 Feet Away from Darren Wilson's SUV

If you actually do some due diligence (read: don't rely on HuffPo, DailyMarxist or Pravda), here's what you'll find: Witness 14 testifies it was 25 to 30 feet or a little more. Witness 34 put it at 2 or 3 car lengths (almost exactly the same as 25-30 feet). Witnes 37 detailed Brown running 15...

Police Lied -- Mike Brown Was Killed 148 Feet Away from Darren Wilson's SUV

Well, db, this "non racially-motivated" beatdown/killing must warm your little "social justice" heart. http://www.stltoday.com/news/local/crime-and-courts/fatal-hammer-attack-on-bosnian-immigrant-not-racially-motivated-st/article_9f15bf49-c8b7-5bc3-8671-ac291f666084.html As far as crackpot...

Grand Jury Decision reached - Let the riots begin

Case in point... I just can't believe all the discrimination, though. Michael's poor mom, who assaults people over t-shirts, "only" got to speak at the UN. Shouldn't she be elevated to world dictator or something?

Who's consistently profitable on the monthly basis, what change made you go from red to green?

And politicians can do insider trading legally, which is the worst part.

Who's consistently profitable on the monthly basis, what change made you go from red to green?

I'm questioning your presuppositons, but you don't seem to get it. Let's put this another way...what possible value is there in taking advice of anonymous people on ET with no verifiable track record? Why are you even asking in the first place?

Who's consistently profitable on the monthly basis, what change made you go from red to green?

Uh, no. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russell's_teapot There's tons of data out there on hedge fund managers, advisory services, automated trading systems, etc. Having seen much of it, the idea of any trader/system being profitable every month borders on the absurd. If you have evidence to...

Who's consistently profitable on the monthly basis, what change made you go from red to green?

You can disagree all you want, but where's the evidence? I've seen one money manager who had very few losing months, but he typically made between 0.5% to 1.5% per month. Also, I only saw his track record when the markets were relatively stable. I'm not sure how he'd do during a financial crisis.

Who's consistently profitable on the monthly basis, what change made you go from red to green?

Yep. Any strategy that emphasizes monthly profitability follows this pattern: small profit small profit small profit small profit BIG LOSS!! small profit ... For an extreme example, see Long Term Capital Management.

    Reasons to be bullish

Dude, stop the drama queen routine. As an entrepreneur and trader, this is the last place I'd go for serious discussions. There were some half-interesting conversations here 8 or 10 years ago. Even then, you had fakers/pikers like dbphoenix posing as traders and even mentors. You never know...
