Quit Corporate Job to become Options Trader Full-Time. Need Professional Advice.

But somehow, some way, a lone retail trader with $10K is going to prove you wrong. C'mon, MarksmanII. Stop with the Warren Buffet comparisons. Your edge isn't "what you make and believe of it." You've read too much touchy-feely trading psych stuff. Your edge better be real and quantifiable...

Marketsurfer has a Triple Whammy Day

Actually CICO is a bit of a fallacy. Nutritional density per calorie is also very important. You can eat twinkies for a while, but very few people could do it long-term...or limit calories to 1,700/day. Nutrient-dense, fiber-rich food is the key.

I gave my $0.02. Others are selling the dream...even though they should know better.

This isn't adding up. You're going to paper trade the first month, and hope to come up with a profitable strategy. In month 2 you'll trade real money. By months 3-4, you'll be ready to give up if you aren't profitable. I can already tell you what's going to happen.

Quit Corporate Job to become Options Trader Full-Time. Need Professional Advice.

My advice? It's neither conventional ("go back to your day job") or what you want to hear, but here goes. If you really don't want to go back to the corporate world, spend the vast majority of your time and $10K on something entrepreneural. Study internet marketing and determine some kind of...

Greece Heads for ‘No’ Vote, Raising Risk of Departure From Euro

Yeah, we're talking about 0.5% of the world's economy. Still, even if it doesn't cause immediate contagion, it makes people wonder about the rest of the PIIGs, and general debt problems worldwide.

Regardless of your views on this (I have mine as well), how do you think this will impact the markets...short and mid-term?

Last Friday was the opposite. Small-caps and riskier stocks were up while large-caps were down. You can't make mid-term projections off daily fluctuations.

    "Real Winners Are Equity Traders"

We can debate this all day, but without good data it's all conjecture. I don't know the exact odds, but retail traders have the odds stacked against them in FX, futures and stocks. FX may be the worst because of leverage, brokers and so many harebrained trading strategies (from both vendors and...

    "Real Winners Are Equity Traders"

I added an important detail in bold. Not to take anything away from Livermore, but his life shows how hard it can be to trade consistently and follow the right principles.

    "Real Winners Are Equity Traders"

To make your analogy consistent with evidence from MMA, the last one standing is the one who has cross-trained, is a superior athlete AND learned to adapt his art to real fighting. I'm not sure how that applies to this discussion, but it's reality.

If You are long RUSSEL 2000 ETF (IWM) you are long at ....

No one should be long IWM for fundamental reasons. Technically, it may or may not be a good move, depending on your time frame. The problem with these kind of threads is that no such distinctions are made.

Prisoner in van said Freddie Gray was ‘trying to injure himself,’ document says

Hogwash. People have come here off boats with nothing, worked very hard, put their kids through college and had doctors, lawyers and businessmen by the next generation. And some work their way out of the ghetto. Violence is a choice. And blacks in recent generations have more opportunities than...

It's summertime, and you know what that means in the big cities. . .

Yeah, the typical Left-Right continuum is way off. It was probably designed by moderate Leftists. Nazis were "national socialists" for heaven's sake! Do you really think Hitler was in favor of a small government, individual liberty, the right of citizens to bear arms, etc? The same is true with...

And if you believe that movements are totally random (very different that believing in a degree of randomness), your circular logic won't allow you to see any possible edge in the markets. Oh well, more strategies for the rest of us.
