I think you misunderstood me. My firm connects directly to a data service and clearing firm. It does not connect to Sterling. What cannot connect directly to an exchange or data provider directly is your client side Sterling platform.

I more or less did. Most Sterling users connect directly to Sterling's servers. Some of us connect to servers at our own firms. But you need to connect to a server running the Server version of Sterling. So that would preclude connecting directly to an exchange or data provider.

It's not easy money anymore, but there's still an edge there.

That's what I'm trying to say. A lot of firms use Sterling's servers for orders and quotes. Other firms do not. This greatly affects your experience.

Just because there are a lot of shorts doesn't mean prices aren't where they should be. I'd consider the shorts to be smarter money than most of the longs.

I think you need to differentiate people who use the Sterling platform to log in to Sterling's servers or their own firm's servers. Most of the frozen order issues are from people logging into Sterling's servers, I think. I have not seen those issues at my firm where we use our own servers.
