    European Oil Reports

Reports like the DOE inventories don't exist. Best bets are IEA and API monthly data for crude and products. National grid published demand, flows, storage, etc for nat gas and demand and frequency for power.

CBOT gas at the pump futures

Anyone who has significant gasoline exposure/wants to speculate on gasoline trades NYMEX or OTC. Furthermore, there's no reason any decent trader would want to punt these products.

Snowfall futures - I have seen it all....

There's actually a legitimate purpose for these contracts and they're pretty common in the OTC market. Examples: http://www.wrma.org/wrma/library/file772.pdf http://www.wrma.org/wrma/library/file774.pdf

    Iran and Oil

I've seen the proposed Iranian energy exchange and the trading of oil in euros mentioned several times... My .02 Euros... For starters, no significant market participants (producers, funds, banks, refiners, etc) are going to start trading the Iranian contract overnight. This isn't like...

Fill 'er up at the CBOE pump??

You can trade gasoline basis swaps in the OTC market (LA, Chicago, Boston, Gulf Coast). Also, for what it's worth, Gulf Coast and LA swaps can be cleared via NYMEX.

Fill 'er up at the CBOE pump??

Strong probability that this product never takes off. Anyone who has significant gasoline risk uses NYMEX or OTC (i.e. Platts) products and will continue to do so. If the CBOE was trying to appeal to retail/small specs, they should have rolled out a small, electronic contract (based on...

Which is better, an MBA or PhD?

In my opinion, if you're interested in trading, you'll be better off with an MS in Finance, Financial Math, Financial Engineering, etc. than an MBA or PhD. Check out this list of programs. In addition to the program itself, you should also consider what the school/program/professors/alumni...

    NYC Traders

Might be interested as well but won't be in NY full time for another few weeks so it's hit and miss between now and then... In addition, does anyone know of office space available in NY, ideally in/near the NYMEX building but am open to all options. I'm don't need a broker, just office...

    Katrina a 5, Oil at?

Exactly. It can and most likely will be used in this manner but I assumed that bestfriend (correct me if i am wrong) was implying that the SPR should be used in order to push crude prices lower, not for hurricane related supply issues. I guess the question that needs to be asked is, would you...

    Katrina a 5, Oil at?

What do you think this would accomplish? It would be a short term fix, most likely very short term, at best. Are you familar with the data released by the EIA each Wednesday?
