Thursday and Friday caught me off-guard. There were bullish divergences and solid support zones blown through all over the place and the ones that did hold, I didn't take profits fast enough since I thought they were going to be "the one!". After the morning session, I threw in the towel on...

Yeah, and the 30-min is bullish. I'll take a shot if NQ gets to 1964 where I have some resistance, but thats it.

Long 1854.50 (damn straight, 2 ticks from the lo  ) off the 78.6% retrace (on both indices=synergy)... looking to hold for a decent number of points if we can get some strength. Stop 1853.75 so no biggie if stopped. :stopped for 3 ticks: 1851 next support

Around 7am they ran the NQ down to the serious support level... not during RTH though. I'm not sure what to think about that, if it constitutes a touch or not. ... looks like they're gunning for an RTH test, nice (1953-1958)

Risk more than your profit goal during non-trending markets?

When the markets not trending very hard, sometimes I'll put my hard stop further away then where I "soft" stop myself out and admit the trade is wrong and look for exit. On the NQ especially, the market moves itself by stopping traders out then reverting til it finds support again. You can...

I have significant support on NQ at 1851.75 - 1854.75 .... not that it even means anything since its been blowing right through everything... not a good day for us counter-trend guys. Which especially sucks because I know better than to go CT on gap-n-grind days. I'm sidelines for now...

Cool, thanks... looks like this is going to be the mandatory 78.6 bounce.... off the daily chart, this should be significant. If its not, thats some scary downside pressure.

Yeah, I agree, at least EOD. I had it as larger support position, but I am not positive why I marked it as so (I'm traveling right now, heads not all here). Do you know if this is the 78.6% retrace on the S&P cash?

FWIW a subscriber newsletter I get did several backtests regarding going into a FED day while in the current circumstances (near 20-day low, breadth, volume, etc) and there is a quantifiable edge to the upside the day of the meeting and the day or two after as well. Couple that with the...

1946.75 - 1948.75 not a bad place for NQ to take a break and retrace a little. I'll look to get short on some kind of confirmation signal.... hopefully it can break 1946.00 and get some kind of capitulation volume. Next resistance after that is ~1960 *Larger bias is still UP, just looking...

Thanks for the comments guys! I didn't realize more than a few people paid attention to my calls. I always like to hear your analysis' too. Thanks alot JSSPMK especially for showing me how powerful the MACD histo divergence is :) However, sorry if I gave you all the impression I'm leaving...

Good points. Thanks for the comments guys. I'll agree that most wont change much, but perhaps the little subtleties that I take cues off might. In any case if I found the subtleties the first time I'll probably be able to do it again. Heres a PA gift for any NQ scalpers/traders... take a look...
