    Ideal specs for daytrading PC

What happened when you set the memory? To 500 MB or less, then 4 GB? My IB TWS calls for 1 Gb so I gave it 4Gb, out of 48Gb. I also keep the configuration (screens) at the lowest possible. My config file was 4 Kb of XML. I got it down to 2.3Kb. Loads faster.

Where did all the liquidity of the mini ES go a few years ago?

It comes and it goes is what I have seen. One time when the EURO was getting going, it really shrank and it seemed everyone was on FOREX based instruments. I stopped using it for awhile while I and IT adjusted into some equilibrium. I would assume with Asia having so much money bouncing...

Does it ever make sense to have a risk-to-reward ratio of 2:1?

IMO, Risk Reward calculations come AFTER, the details of the trade: Probability of a win, Support-Resistance levels relative to being above-below, the stops and targets. Some people look for it as an input filter on which trades to take, up to a point. It is also good as an AFTER the trade...

Obsession with trading and the markets. Does it get better or only worse?

    Ideal specs for daytrading PC

Run the performance monitor and find the bottlenecks. For grins load everything up at once and see what happens. TOS should be the least of your burden probably. Also I assume TOS is a 2D program, so even the built in graphics should be able to do a 2K monitor. As for your speed, do a ping...

Can someone explain why Credit Suisse 3x ETF suddenly went to 15k

ETN is not an ETF. So there are different underlying instruments. I am not sure but I think that makes it harder to go 3x and stay stable. I did not really understand from the article, like you, how it exactly went so high. But the interesting thing to me is they busted the "trades" based...

    Group/List/Basket trading

IB does. A bit clunky though. You can save a basket as a CVS file and edit it, then reload it. When doing a lot of them, I run two excel sheets. One calculates the number of shares rounded to the nearest 10 or 50 (to help with odd lots) based on the proportional amount that stock represents...

    Day trading profit target

Hunt squirrels with a .50 magnum and hunt bears with a .22L. Does this type of logic work for your trading?

Just to Confirm? SP Futures (full contracts) are not really trading anymore

Hi guys, I just want to confirm the SPX futures, e.g. SPU, are not really trading anymore. The CME-CBOE site shows Sept volumes of 11 contracts. It seems the e-mini has completely taken over as the SP500 futures choice. Thanks

Question about Chart trader: STP LMT order symmetry

Hi All, Hi Def, Before I submit a bug report-ticket, I figure I would ask here. Config: TWS 980.3a or 979.4y or 978.2d Steps: Open TWS Windows desktop version on Win 10 Pro 64 bit, ver 2004 Open a Chart. Create a Hotkey shortcut to: Buy; STP LMT; STOP = Bid +1.0; STOP Limit Price = Bid...
