    RUSL suspended by Direxion

Yeah I owned the old GUSH, ERX & JNUG which almost went to zero in March 2020. Soon after Direxion reduced all these to 2X and then the gold stocks took off. Bad timing I guess.

is Cathie Wood’s fund in trouble?

Palm was actually a pretty good company and ahead of its time, of course Apple had its own "palmtop" product called the Newton which was good but heavy. In my IT department back in the late '90s the iPaq was the one the Sysadmins used. I believe the iPaq was actually made by HTC but it was...

    RUSL suspended by Direxion

The pricing of RUSL doesn't make sense anymore. RSX down 27% and RUSL down 17%? Even if you assume Direxion stopped buying new swaps on Thursday the RSX is still down 26% and the RUSL is up 6% since then.

Hypocrisy of US politics regarding swift ban

This thread is very interesting. The Pro-US side wants people to believe that they are Snow White and have done nothing wrong ever and the Pro-Russia side wants to believe the Russians are in fact Snow White. Hillarious. There was not one reason to attack Iraq or Afghanistan. They should have...

Breaking: Russian nuclear deterrent on alert :BBC

That's the plot of Die Hard 4: Live Free Or Die Hard. A rogue Treasury Agent turned cyber criminal creates fake videos about the White House being blown up and performs a "fire sale" of the US infrastructure grid and downloads all the financial transactions of the world. It's a pretty...

    RUSL suspended by Direxion

I assume it got too volatile for them to maintain. It didn't go down 50% but it was down ~30% one day. According to the e-mail I got it looks like Direxion is suspending new shares effective yesterday: Direxion Suspends Creations in RUSL Effective February 24, 2022, creations of the Direxion...

    NASDAQ ?

Its not just because of higher beta, there is also the fact that the 10 year bond rose a little (lower rates equals less valuation pressure for the infinite P/E stocks). I think the invasion also might signal that the Fed will do less tightening.

Who called the buy right when Russia struck?

I was feeling lucky so I bought the RUSL lottery ticket. Since I bought it, it's up about 65% ($7 to $11.5).

When Russia invades, go ALL IN...

This aged well. Good call. I was skeptical, however I bought the RUSL (+2X RSX) as a lottery ticket at around $7. It hit $12 today. An amazing rebound in less than 2 days.

What are you going to do about inflation?

One of the funniest movies of all time. Up there with Caddyshack & Blues Brothers. Used Cars was produced by Spielberg and had Lenny & Squiggy from Laverne & Shirley. Hillarious film.

Anyone has connectivity issues with TWS servers?

Doesn't work for me either. It tries to upgrade to the new version but gets stuck at the jre install step. This is the first time I couldn't log on to IB. I had to use the stand alone version. Hope they fix it soon.

NeXT was pretty good. It was too expensive for what it did and SGI was the king at the time for graphics servers. Even Lucasfilms used it for its special effects & graphics editing. An SGI IRIX box is in the Jurassic Park movie near the end of it. The female character calls it UNIX but its...

    The Sky is Falling

20% of the NASDAQ 100 is down 60% or more. Is that a sign of a healthy market? The only reason the indexes aren't down a lot more is the Nifty Fifity mentality of the investors aka just keep buying the darlings like Apple, Google, etc.

    Superbubble video: Grantham

The guy is a permabear. When is he not bearish? He is like most of the "value" investor who come on CNBC/Bloomberg, they only invest when the market has crashed. The 2 things these people always say is the market is about to crash & one of these days European & Japanese stocks will outperform...

Winning Chart of the Day: TZA

Seems like UVXY will always outperform any of the -3X ETFs. On Friday at the peak SARK was up 6% TQQQ 5.5% and UVXY 14% at the peak. Its still amazing to me that SARK which is just -1X ARKK outperforms TQQQ which is -3X QQQ.

    NASDAQ bear-market

This market feels like the 2015-2016 market to me. In August 2015 the Chinese devalued their currency and that started a selling cascade which didn't really recover until around the election in 2016. It bottomed in late January 2016 but just went sideways until the Brexit vote and then slowly...

is Cathie Wood’s fund in trouble?

Cramer's critique of Wood is accurate. She has no in depth analysis of these companies beyond just pure growth. I owned a lot of the stocks in ARKK seperately even before the pandemic like Roku, Moderna, Cloudflare, Shopify, etc., but I exited them when the story was over. In the end she owns...

Cathie Wood ARK Stays the Course, Betting Big on Innovation

I believe this was the great NY Mets & Philadelphia Phillies centerfielder Lenny Dykstra. His nickname in baseball was "Nails". He was part of the 1986 NY Mets that won the World Series. I think Bill Miller was the great 3rd baseman for the SF Giants & Bosoxs.

Cathie Wood ARK Stays the Course, Betting Big on Innovation

From October 2014 until Feb 2021 she did a pretty good job of outperforming the QQQ as well as her peer group of mid-cap growth consistently. She should have just stuck with her overweight position of Tesla. She would have weathered the storm much better if she held the 20% TSLA stake instead of...
