    Iterative Refinement

I had a bulb or two go off today, thanks to Spyders advice "higher high, lower low" a few days back. The gaussians were clear. At least I think so, and I'll savour the moment because it'll probably only last till I compare my chart with guavamans, losttraders et al. :)

    Iterative Refinement

From meditating over LostTraders and guavamans charts I came to the conclusion that I'm probably 'jumping fractals' at times. Loaded with this new knowledge... for some reason today went wrong right from the start. Didn't really find the pt3 of the up channel that started at bar 9. Then it went...

Thank you, I'll print both your charts and ponder this for a while. cheers, tobbe

    Iterative Refinement

You're right, it is not a valid channel. I left the blue channel in place even after I redrew the gaussians to fit the down fuchsia channel. Up until the blue pt3 I was anticipating an up channel since there could have been a B2B at 10:50 (bar 16). To avoid confusion I left a note on the chart...

    Iterative Refinement

Chart for today. Home sales didn't really add much to the action apart from an 'outside' volume bar. Personally I found the 13:00 - 14:30 area(-ish) confusing. Finally I removed all micro level gaussians and settled for one big wide black line. I would very much appreciate any advice on how...

    Iterative Refinement

The mr G. Aussian mantra for the day: "higher high, lower low". So I forgot all about formations. Oh well. :) Home sales tomorrow at 10:00 EST. cheers, tobbe

    Iterative Refinement

I've only gone through a few charts as yet, but I can see it makes perfect sense. Thank you :) .

    Iterative Refinement

Todays chart. After the open (3 bars in) I was anticipating a W day. Nice 40 min lateral midday, esp looking at open/close, very tight range. Got a little messy at 14:15 - 14:40 before the gaussains indicated I didn't have the right down channel. Left the mess on the chart, enjoy :p . NT is...

    Iterative Refinement

Today I started annotating charts again after a 2+ weeks charting vacation. This is my third attempt at the method. Many of you have pointed out the importance of posting charts - and Spydertrader did just that as late as off today - so I'm now posting my first chart for public scrutiny. And...

    Iterative Refinement

I had forgotten about Vorzo's spreadsheet (and do I feel kind of stupid :p ), thanks Padawan and Ivo for the reminder. The pace table/chart I posted was for february. If you used the last 30 days of data, that would explain the difference. Even if you used data from the same period but from...

    Iterative Refinement

I think 30 days of data or so is enough for the pace table as posted by MAK and Vorzo. It's not enough for a table like the second one I posted. For example there were only 2 bars that made up the volume for 10 points. Statistics is mostly about large samples and only 2 would be considered far...

    Iterative Refinement

Mostly for fun - here's another way of viewing the pace data for ES posted previously. Imagine you need at least 3 point bars to trade profitably - check the table, you need at least 25700 PRV to trade. The point numbers are up to the following number, i.e. 1 is for 1-1.75 points, 2 is for...

    Iterative Refinement

A while back MAK posted a volatility vs pace chart (it's found here, scroll down a bit). Here's a recent update with a slightly different format. The bars are ES 5 min for february 2008, 09:30 to 16:00 EST. Unlike MAK I have kept the 3 first bars of the trading day since I believe sync to take...

Software Used to Trade Jack Hershey Methods

Is anyone using TradeStation 8 for charting and annotating JH/S style? Is it doable? How good is it as compared to, for example, qcharts or esignal? cheers, tobbe

Spydertrader's Jack Hershey Futures Trading Journal

For what it's worth - Discussions on Str-Squ pops up now and then and I thought I'd share an observation. When Str-Squ was introduced I really tried to wrap my mind round it (finally an indicator ... of sorts). I soon realized that I couldn't make any sense of the histogram though (I...

Spydertrader's Jack Hershey Futures Trading Journal

Now that this journal is nearing completion - Thank you Spydertrader for your journals, your integrity, your patience and and for the enormous amount of work and time you have put into this.
