    Astss

I realize that the name Amazing Stock Trend Signal Software is silly enough in itself, but I have found the tool to be useful. The website is: http://www.invest4y.com/ Basically, it is a cheap subscription service (~US$7/month) and you can put long lists of stocks to screen on a...

    From MB trading to IB

I think that MB Trading has a great platform. The only drawbacks for me: - no web-based interface, for when you are behind a firewall (supposedly coming soon) - no ability to enter orders late at night / early AM for the market open (they close access to their market server).

    Merrill Lynch IB

The questions will really depend on what area(s) of Merrill Lynch. Jumping to a CFO position is most likely after someone is a Big 4 partner for some time. Slow down...

    Do folks like TDAmeritrade?

I did not feel that TD Ameritrade is very good for active trading. There are some nice research screeners, where you can get trading ideas. You might do the same at Yahoo! or MSN Money. If you have an account that just sits there or trades infrequently, then it will probably work. If you...

IB no interest on first 10K rule, what do you do with the money?

You can check out symbol BIL, a new very short-term (3 month) t-bill ETF. There is some interest rate risk in the interim (only 0.13 years duration!), but it should be minimal if you hold it for any length of time: http://www.ssgafunds.com/weblogic//etf/fund/etf_detail_BIL.jsp

How can I become better in economics?

Many of the articles require a subscription, but many are free. It is one of the best magazines that discusses the subject of economics and news, IMHO: http://www.economist.com/index.html Don't forget that a number of universities have made their economics classes available online, such...

    market higher becauseeeeeee???

It is striking to see how some S&P 500 stocks (such as Exxon) have done so well, and others (such as D.R. Horton or Sealed Air) have not.

    DIA Market Top by Joab

This is also consistent with Elliott Wave analysis, which I agree with. It seems like the movement now is part of a Wave 3 from about 2 months ago. The market should retrace a little from these levels, then make new highs on less volume. In other words, those calling the big top and end...

What about the iShares MSCI Hong Kong Index Fund which is traded in the US under the symbol EWH?

    DIA Market Top by Joab

For what it's worth, TradeGuider shows DIA (on a daily time frame) still in an uptrend with more steam left in it. The bearish volume indicators on the 18th and the 23rd could be negative foreshadowing, but, for now, TradeGuider says that the trend has not yet changed.

spls Huge volume in final minutes...What does it mean?

TradeGuider turned bearish on SPLS (in the daily timeframe) last Thursday the 24th (i.e. downward trend). It looks like the bearishness has continued, and the volume is even more bearish. Trade with extreme caution ....

looking for EOD software for OTCBB stocks

You will have to create the symbol list yourself, but we have found HSQuote to be a worthwhile utility for downloading EOD data. Note that many such stocks have unusual symbols on Yahoo!, so check that out first: http://www.1free-historical-stock-quotes-downloader.com/

EOD Data Vendor for US stocks needed

There are a few such vendors like HSQuote out there, but basically what they all do is download end-of-day data from sites like Yahoo! and MSN. There is a little setting up to be done, but it is a pretty cheap one-time purchase instead of a recurring monthly fee. You have to adjust for...
