We had a huge spike of volatility in the YM this morning. Not sure what this says for the day... I didn't see any news...

    Iterative Refinement

Here is a simple chart showing today's volatility vs. volume. It shows you why as beginners, lunchtime is a good time to, well, have lunch! Seriously, I'm finding myself as a routine, only trading about 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon.

Tiki, I wonder about the volume of Thursday's bar on your chart. You have much higher volume than I have on mine. I saw that as a hitch or stall. cnms2's chart shows much less volume too. We all saw the R2R though!

Here is a daily chart of the ES. I'll be looking for a FTT in the next ? days and the subsequent point 3 after that. I find that knowing where you are in the big picture (daily charts) helps keep your perspective. Have a nice day! :p

Software Used to Trade Jack Hershey Methods

Hey cnms2, I've been trying out a sim account with Open Ecry (for the second time) and I like it a lot. They have a very nice, clean platform. I know that Nkhoi has been using OEC for a while so you might want to pm him for his thoughts. For the real futures trading that I have been doing...

My ES for today. It was a more active day than usual for me. I found myself washing and reversing quite a bit. Despite 15 round trips, I snagged 7 points. I've been trying to incorporate more of the IF1/IF2 thinking, which I believe led me to making more trades. I'm not sure if I've reached...

Spyder, I've said it before and I'll say it again. Thanks for your tireless efforts to educate us. It's quite a journey, one that I suspect has no ending! :D

Congratulations TUMS on great results! I too am approaching a year on studying the JH method and like you, I can't believe how long it takes. But everyday, I see some progress. While some days it is very small, it is progress nonetheless! I don't know about the rest of you out there, but I...

Not exactly. I based my getting into the trade on the fact that we already had a couple of retraces (see the laterals) and were working on the second VE AND the price was well below the 20 SMA (see the earlier posts about 20 SMA's). I was watching the tick chart and there seemed to be a...

The attached chart is my definition of a clear-cut opportunity. This has been my only trade of the day.

It should be noted that "clear-cut" is a function of one's skill level. What might be clear-cut to Spyder, might be confusion to me! :p

The market will tell you what the opportunities are. They could be early recognition of an FTT (see my earlier post about the 20 SMA), a point 3, blasting out of a lateral on higher volume, whatever. Again, let the market tell you.
