    The secret of daytrading

Seriously though, if you ran a forward test using the coin with even bet sizing, and just put a stop loss at high/low of first hour and set exit on close, I wouldn't be surprised if it outperformed 99.99% of intraday traders.

New approach for testing algorithmic trading strategies

It’s cool stuff, but it’s all curve fitting. No shortage of that. If I were a vendor, I’d look to handicap specific markets monthly, and offer to clients strategies based only on walk-forward simulation on real-time data, which then become historical stats. I wouldn’t take seriously anything...

    how do you trade es/nq?

No, because the win rate decreases as you increase reward ratio. You can however enjoy a favorable R:R ratio with high odds just buying/holding the S&P. The total risk would be your total starting balance (ex. 10k), and reward the total account balance at X point in the future. Disadvantage...

    how do you trade es/nq?

Has nothing to do with skill, which is definitely required, but more with market mechanics. Team programming for better algo-trading results

The missing piece is the strategy. One seasoned trader with a verifiable track record would be worth more to OP than a team of 20 programmers and academics spinning their wheels. Best starting point would be to find a willing trader, put up equal risk capital and form a partnership. Good luck

    how do you trade es/nq?

That’s what most neophytes think. In reality, markets aren’t that generous due to noise. If you do get that 5k for 1k risked, it won’t be more than 20% of your trades. Like I said, in efficient markets this stuff is proportional.

    how do you trade es/nq?

Doesn’t matter. You risk 1K to make at least 1K. You risk 1M to make at least 1M. It’s nearly proportional in liquid/efficient markets. If you choose inefficient markets you face liquidity risk. No free money

    how do you trade es/nq?

Unlimited money flow=Unlimited Risk It’s a double edged sword

    how do you trade es/nq?

By using broad concepts. You won’t be scalping it for a tick like 99% of ET dreamers.
