Selling Premium - Strategy Never Discussed

Are you buying cheap options that are OTM? If so, how do you determine which underlying is due a big move and what sort of TA do you apply? Or do you just buy them and hippie hope for the best? Ie treat them like a lottery ticket?

    Small Account

Beautiful great post. I think you are right. Don't trade options until you are profitable in an instrument that is easier. Eg stocks. I like your point 4 about modelling. It was only when I did this that excel that I understood how debit and credit spreads worked.

    Small Account

Interesting. That seems like a very simple approach. Would you not use any other indicators like RSI or macd? What sort of instruments would you advocate using this 180ma approach? Many thanks.

If you have just open a $2000 account, what would you do?

Thanks. Is there any reason why you'd focus on ETFs rather than individual shares? Won't you get bigger moves by buying individual shares?

    Debit spread to minimize loss

Great example, this has really helped me understand how debit spreads work. For a newbie like myself, would you say that buying vertical spreads is a better strategy than just going long on calls and puts? Thanks.

    High Probability Trend Strategy

Hey, I agree with you 110%! Even Connors, who developed the RSI, used a 2 period indicator as well as the standard 14. Grateful if you could share one customised setting that worked for you. Maybe on the MACD : )

    High Probability Trend Strategy

Thanks, this is something I've been doing as well. The advised approach is to stick to the standard indicator settings and not change them but I think that this is wrong. Do you have any tips on how to customise the MACD for a struggling trader? Thanks : )

What's the cheapest R/T for Micro ES and NQ

Thanks Robert, I did suspect that minimum account size had something to do with it. I'm definitely looking at starting with no more than $5000 and am not interested in day trading as I live in the UK and have a full time job too. In your view: 1. If I stay with 1 MES contract to start with is...

What's the cheapest R/T for Micro ES and NQ

Thanks Robert, I was just surprised that none of your clients were interested in the micros. However, as has been mentioned before, the micros were probably pitched at people like me who are new to futures and want to learn without losing or shirts.

This was my feeling too. The commission rates make scalping difficult.

    Question to options traders

Thanks, you said that "if you expect a sharp move down just buy at the money puts". Would this be ATM with a week to expire or a much longer time frame than that? Thanks mate.
