How do Prop Firms Avoid Insane Data Fees?

I use Tradovate for futures and IB for options.

How do Prop Firms Avoid Insane Data Fees?

This is interesting. I wonder if IB would accept because they automatically classify all LLCs as professional.

How do Prop Firms Avoid Insane Data Fees?

I have to pay for data on demo accounts. CME only gives 2 week free trail and TST is offering monthly renewing demo accounts. These firms have found some kind of a loophole to avoid paying huge data fees considering they offer almost every product to trade. I can understand a subsidy if...

How do Prop Firms Avoid Insane Data Fees?

I have a startup prop firm and I'm forced to pay $120/month in data fees (pro fees) for a single exchange and for every single trader. Here are my fees: CBOT: $120 CME: $120 COMEX: $120 NYMEX: $120 EUREX: $120 ICE: $127 Even data for 3/6 is almost $400 per trader. So how do the "tryout"...

IB getting really specific on margins

lol Has $500 margin brokers ever blown up? They've been around for at least 15+ years as far as I know. What is reasoning behind IB's decision to not offer intraday margin? The safety argument doesn't make sense since they can always auto-liquidate. And its not a profit driven decision...

    Any Tradovate Competitors (Zero Commissions)?

Whether its 2400/annually or 349/monthly - it is a bargain for high volume traders. My issue is not the cost but rather I need a similar deal at another broker with API access for automated trading systems. I would also like API access to create a different front end with extra risk management...

    Any Tradovate Competitors (Zero Commissions)?

Tradovate with their monthly commission free membership ($349/month) seems to be the cheapest futures broker. Any other futures brokers out there that offer this?

    Robotic Process Automation

I do support this idea. I support any idea where individual traders help each other because the entire system is rigged against us. Brokers, Exchanges, Software companies all POOL resources. But traders are all atomized. Thus, its just a matter of time before the entire cash balance...

    Any Algo Traders in India?

Right now we are a startup with no outside capital. Bootstrapping is essential. Would love to pay 6 figure salaries in US once we have the profit to cover such expenses.

    Any Algo Traders in India?

Futures and options first, stocks will be next.

I want to network with algo traders in India.

    Any Algo Traders in India?

I'm US based. I've been manually trading for 15 years. I started a prop firm with manual trading but it didn't work out. May try again after developing better technology to help manual traders. Now trying algo trading have good results. I know one brilliant programmer in India. Looking to...

When Will They Release Options on Micro Futures?

Thanks for the call. That seems really odd. The CME and brokers are probably printing money on the Micros. Size is 1/10th of Minis but commissions/fees is only 1/5th. Adding options should be super easy. I guess we'll have to wait until 2021.

When Will They Release Options on Micro Futures?

Since micro futures are such a huge hit, any word on when options on the micros will be released? I think the success of the micros far exceeds anyone expectation. And options on the micros may be even a bigger success.

If you had a prop firm, how would you develop traders?

I forget his name but a legendary trader started off playing blackjack in casinos. He was funded by a mobster. After he won too much money and got banned from the casinos he started his hedge fund. What's his name?

If you had a prop firm, how would you develop traders?

Is any new business venture wise? I don't think so. 90% of new businesses go bust. The ones that succeed rapidly iterate their way to success through trail and error. This is something I just wanted to try in an attempt to learn more about markets, trading, psychology.

If you had a prop firm, how would you develop traders?

The 6th guy is on a demo and shows some promise. 1st day he makes 1300 trading the micros 150 RT. Which got me thinking maybe there is two most likely ways to successful trading: 1 very high frequency: (100+ RT), trading somewhat like a market maker. 2 very low frequency: just 1 or 2 trades...

If you had a prop firm, how would you develop traders?

No, all new to futures trading. Also 4 of them are in early 20s. Some of them have experience in stocks but not really intraday. One guy does delta hedging in options.

If you had a prop firm, how would you develop traders?

I fund them 100%, no deposit. Also not charging any monthly data fees or any commissions. Initially I gave a lot of discretion for them to trade whatever they want however they want so long as they don’t hit risk limits. I don’t think risk management is anywhere near enough in this business...
