you can read about my day on my blog... http://mnx.ca
yesterday was horrible. today was decent although very slow!!
hope everyone else's day went well also.
mnx
got shutddown on my opening fills. looks like you vultures got the best of me today... ;) got that bad fill on KOSN, held it for a few minutes while it was trading in a range, the loss only grew bigger... that's trading for ya.
have a good one everybody.
mnx
stopped out. for the 5th day in a row. At least I almost made it until noon today. DO was the culprit... the crazy stock gapped up 27 cents (i was short) while my market order was pending so I canceled it, and got out 15 cents lower. Which was pretty much the low after the gap... fun...
no it's $200 and I think I might drive to Toronto and kill Peter Beck. 3 people in my office made 10g's yesterday, while I was sitting at home browsing ebay and writing e-mails to friends...
If that doesn't spell frustration I don't know what does!!!!!!

I'm changing my question to What prop firms have access to the millennium ats?
I sent an e-mail to NYFIX but I thought I might get a speedier response here.
Thanks
mnx
What prop firms have access to millennium that take canadian traders?
I know golden has millennium, and genesis has it in the works (but not yet.) Don't bother mentioning swift, cause that's who I trade with now. I'm looking for a 2nd account...
mnx
I spoke with genesis and they gave me a shitty deal. swift's was substantially better but 'most' traders don't do over 20000 trades in a month.
I haven't bothered to run golden's #'s vs. my stats yet, but if I stick with swift long enough I'll be getting a higher payout anyways.....
Who...
i think ppro itself is great, it's just all the backend stuff that is horrible!
swift's system is definitely down far too much. I know no system has 100% uptime but I think swift's might be the worst...
does anyone out there have a retail account that they trade when ppro bites the dust...
arca market orders route out if ARCa cannot fill youir order... so those long waits were from the specialist... (at least on the nyse issues...) ON nasdaq arca will also route but I don't trade nasdaq very often.... (so I can't tell you why those executions would be slow...)
mnx
good to see you're back Mk!!
i've been getting killed lately... lost $2500 on monday due to a system screw up, made 24$ yesterday and am down $2667 right now. i lost 10 cents on RRI on 30k shares... (I was short 10k then everyone and their brother decided to fill me for everything I had...
yes i can help ;)
EMC is one of the Reg SHO pilot stocks therefore there are no short sale restrictions...
what you are waiting for on NOK is someone who is long to sell into the bid, then you can put your offers up...
eg. nok is 15.89 x 15.90...
15.89 wiped out...
new nbbo is...
yeah, or you could trade them through a retail account...
as far as trading futures at swift, it is very difficult because you are only allowed to lose $50 in a day before you get shutdown... that means a fixed stop loss of 4 ticks... So like it was said above if you want to scalp 100's of...
if that's what you are looking for (trying it out without any risk, then swift would be a great place...) i just assumed you were somewhat experienced...
mnx
OK DT. Your setup rocks!!!!!
My normal daily trading has been quite slow lately so I thought I'd branch out and try something new... So I clicked on the link you put a few posts back. I scalped in and out of stocks setting new daily highs (holding ~10 mins max). I wouldn't touch a stock...
