Haha guru, yes, that is what I was thinking. (To be fair, it was a dozen or more ticks/trades). Could this not be true? Looks like the stock is headed to new all-time highs at the moment, so perhaps my hypothesis is nullified, unless the truth of it could be borne out over a period of days...

The “mystery” is that this is not a thinly traded stock. It’s a heavily traded Dow component. And although it was technically pre-market, it was 927 am when there should have been 100 buyers lining up their bids

Yes, my order was a standing order since 8am. So he hit my bid yes. But he traded his way down there, 25-30c at a clip. It wasn’t just a trade at $129.10 followed by a trade at $127.95. The seller traded his way down and back up again. All within 3-4 minutes

I shorted yesterday at $128.70 while it was chopping around. So I was covering my short. I haven't reentered. I'm wondering if this particular movement to pick me off means a big seller is there, and perhaps I should reenter my short for a longer swing trade. The stock is hitting all time...

You must be referencing guru's post, "It means I've got a deal". Haha yes, that's certainly true. But does it mean the stock will be going down soon? I guess time will tell. Seems like the specialist (or a big trader?) really wanted my shares.

At 8:00 am, I place an order to buy 220 shares of WMT at $127.95. It was trading above $129 all morning. At 9:25 am, in about 3 or 4 ticks/trades, it goes down and picks me off, and then goes right back up to the $129's for the opening bell. What the hell? What does this mean?

Also, if I trade during these hours, am I trading strictly with other TD Ameritrade customers, or is this overnight market traded by other brokers as well?

I see TD Ameritrade offers 24/5 trading in a number of ETFs including SPY and IWM. I'd be curious to know what is the spread in SPY in the overnight hours (such as midnight or 2am) on TD Ameritrade? Thanks, Math_Wiz

The QQQ's bounced $9 off their lows on Friday. All indices ended in the green by 5pm on Friday.

Logarithmic monthly chart of the QQQ's. Barely made a 3-bar break, and then bounced $9 off the lows by 5pm. I don't know which way it's going. I'm just making an observation.

Perhaps that was true at the 4pm close, but at 5pm the S&P was actually positive for the day.

He says it will raise $2.4 trillion over ten years. I wonder if that is based on current market volume. Volume will dry up if the tax is instituted. Also, many smaller brokers may go out of business, and larger brokers will likely lose a good bit of business. All of that will negatively...
