So I'm reading MBTrading's faq, and it says you can open an account with $400 and the minimum trade size is 1 lot which it says is $10,000. So does that mean if you opened an account with $400 you would have to use margin in order to make a trade because you'd have to open a $10,000 position?

Also, I found this broker comparison. Is Oanda the best broker? I like their small minimum trade amounts ($1) as opposed to some that have a minimum trade size of $10k (wtf?). http://www.goforex.net/forex-broker-comparison.htm

Heikin Ashi shows you candlesticks that do not reflect actual prices. I do not like it.

I just got the Steve Nison DVDs from eBay. I got both sets: Strategies for Profiting with Japanese Candlesticks and How To Be A Samurai Trader. I'm sure I'll post a new thread when I have questions about something I heard on them.

It seems like a lot of examples I see on this site are from YM. Do a lot of people trade that instead of stocks here? Are candle patterns more reliable in futures? Anyway, thanks for the replies. This thread has been helpful.

Geez, you're right, it is an inverted Hammer. In my defense, the first program I looked at it on showed it as a doji. Then to get a better pic I used QT and it was actually an inverted hammer, but I had "gravestone doji" stuck in my head by that point. Geez I'm like 0 for 2 today :p
