The context is very important. I learned from Brooks that he often takes a look at the 15 minutes, hourly, daily, sometimes if necessary weekly and monthly chart while trading the 5 minute chart on Emini SP. The daily chart shows a parabolic wedge with first a 9 day bull bar buy climax...

Excellent write up Volpri, enjoyed reading it. I want to add, that there are only about 5-10% of the bars are BO bar(s) in any timeframe chart one trades, and those are the bars not fitting for averaging down if you are trading against the trend. Many who remembered never to average down...

Since it is an open forum so do not take it personally TraderKing007. I think you are so sure about your opinion regarding Volpri, you might be very sure about things happening in the market, but anything in the Market can only have a 75% probability assuming you are using one fixed unit chart...

Learn his history, and all the collecting and categorizing, you might change your mind a bit. No I am not his student nor admirer but do respect his effort after watching many samples and some interviews.

my broker statement (global futures is my clearing firm) gives how many points I made /lose accumulatively averaged out. Something like: average entry, 3152.03, average exit 3153.65

Another very important factor, you do not know what the market going to be like today, and this makes a lot of the difference based on the type of trader you are.

Volpri, I can see from the chart that you are long at the bottom of the range and short at top. I was trading this same market and whenever we reach the bottom, I got scared that it might shoot down and thus cannot convince myself to buy at the bottom area. Especially the PA came down fast and...

I strongly recommend to really read Volpri’s thread in and out before commenting, especially if you are not consistently profitable yet. If you are, good for you.

To add to my comment above, I have been trading for over 20 years, and full time for over five years, and I have been profitable consistantly on day trading level for years, and it took me over a week on and off to fully read the above thread by Volpri, and it is one of the best thing I found on ET.

Read this thread carefully, depending on your trading experience, it might take you a day or two, and practice. The most important thing is how to revenge your loss if you get stopped out. If most of your revenge get stopped out again, you are setting your stop at places not really show a change...
