    Current Margin Requirements in IBIE

After closing futures position and despite just having cash and some bought calls, I've realized that there's in my account, some current initial margin that it shouldn't be because I don't have any position that requires margin. So, I'm communicating with support to set it right.

Already done, waiting for support, but I wanted to know if other experiences are differents, reasons...etc

    Current Margin Requirements in IBIE

I trade often the micro-future MES which has a margin requirement, generally less than $1000; this is in IBUK. I've just checked my account, which was moved from IBUK to IBIE, and I'm seeing that more than $3000 for just 1 MES contract. This doesn't make sense at all, when all are the same...

Who else thinks a Correction or CRASH may be coming? My top call #2 1/9/2021

Yes, you're right. I wrote it fast not thinking carefully about the right financial vocabulary. Besides that, do you have an opinion about what KCalhoun affirms?

Who else thinks a Correction or CRASH may be coming? My top call #2 1/9/2021

While the Fed's balance sheet continues expanding ( You can watch it as the FARBAST index in a bloomberg terminal ) , any correction will last little, however, 3%-7% suddenly corrections might occur. Since 2009, Market cycles have been broken cause the FED, this is the new normal.....so far

    IB, you really suck...

One last thing that always works is sending them a Ticker, that private messaging system, hopefully it's not a matter of urgency

C# TWS API - get position information

I'm just another trader, not a programmer, with some experience developing Algos in Ninjatrader. Despite not being the same platform, here there's some procedure in C# that perhaps may inspire some idea. The basic idea is this: foreach (var instrument in BarsArray) {...

I am back..... I was a bull in March and said bottom was then... Now

A little bit contradictory according to your nickname, hehehe. Now, seriously, with the FED's liquidity tsunami going on, I believe the big guys know that the logic path is up, but yesterday was a day used to "shake the flees" of this rally. It's possible that the market in the short-term is...

I am back again... Crystal ball here.... Take it or leave it. Spy will..

Good call. Still, I believe today is a day to buy looking to sell into Monday bounce. It seems a long shot cause the weekend but technically is possible

    Instant Limit Down 3/22/2020

Surprisingly markets have come out of the halt like 30 mins ago

What happens if they decide to shut down the markets?

They shouldn't do that stupid idea. It would create more havoc for sure. At this moment futures are in halt....going up, once again, squizo markets!

    What caused the drop?

In the beginning, the Coronavirus had a surprisingly temporary effect, after that, even the stock market made new all-time highs as the disease never existed. The problem apparently was when the crisis in China became more serious until the point to disrupt seriously the chain-supply of this...

    Has the correction begun?

As long as the FED keeps pumping money into the system, I highly doubt of any long correction. In the past, bubbles always pop cause money come from the private sector. Is this time the same? Whilst QE is alive, markets will continue to show up persistence.

How to decide whether to buy spot or option?

For me it's simple. If your objective is a short-term thing, then buy the option cause you're already setting a stoploss for the position. And of course the contrary if your goal is long-term

How much is a good Stoploss system method worth?

How much is a good Stoploss system method worth?

    Both, as a perpetual reversing.

How much is a good Stoploss system method worth?

I've often seen, backtesting several models, that it's always more profitable a Strategy or Model that always has a position than others that includes Flat positions. Intuitively, it seems a Flat position might be better as a defense mechanism, but the statistic evidence shows otherwise.

SP500 DOWN to 2500 and then to 2200

As long as World's central banks keep expanding liquidity, the bull will be dominating the markets, only some world wide surprising negative disrupting reason would be able to create a correction as you call, liquidity is the fuel and they keep pumping it. It seems the debt bubble will keep...

This financial markets bubble is different, is it not?

Seeing markets in all-time highs is a logical consequence to the world's central banks expanding liquidity like there was no tomorrow. But there are other weird things happening to the Gold and cash, they seem to disappear. All this abnormal behavior keeps me thinking about causes.

How much did it take to become more or less consistent for you?

Developing an edge for a full automated trading Algo took me several years and in spite of an acceptable statistical consistency, I continue to get it better, cause there are many market quick and aggressive situations that makes hard to take good decisions.
