Don't count on it holding, S/R are best treated as target pts for taking profits, they usually do not hold.

DAX has been leading SPX for quite a while now, and that market looks horrible... I think we go down, hard.

Looks like another huge down day today, we got a bear flag breakout yesterday and we are set to open near yesterday's lows. Funny how nobody here seems to be short when we get a meltdown like this, but I guess thats why markets go down i.e all the bears have given up. :)

I think we go lower eventually, this thing is forming a bear flag.

Rare in the current low volatility environment maybe, but markets change all the time, pull up a chart of 2008-2009 and you will see that back to back huge selloffs were very common then.

I don't think there is going to be any "lift-off", a major trend line was breached yesterday, and it couldn't move back up above it this morning. And now we are selling off again, looks bad to me.

Yea the only thing that matters is the FED, little else matters.

Treasury yields tanked, I doubt the market really believes Bullard (who isn't a voting member in 2014 anyway).

With Central Banks now openly buying stocks, how can the Bull end?

Lmfao. So thats your definition of things "tipping over"? Volatility in a few symbols? There is nearly zero volatility in most markets, when was the last time we got a modest 10% dip in the MSCI world index? Save for the occasional spike, the VIX has been stuck in the low teens since forever...

Number of New York traders at all time low

2004 - 2006 isn't comparable to what we have now, the fed was in a tightening cycle, we actually got a taste of that a few months ago, when everyone thought the fed was going to raise rates sooner than they thought.

We near that tipping pt yet? Its been over a year mate. :D

Number of New York traders at all time low

There are less traders now because volatility has dropped, and that has nothing to do with HFTs or technology, central bank intervention is the reason for the crash in volatility. I think it will remain this way until we get a serious bout of inflation that forces central banks to turn off...

Swing Trading Global Markets - WILD Approach

ES rallied to 1898.5 2 days ago, part of your position would have been liquidated so you can't possibly still have 20. I know you are paper trading but this journal is just a joke if you don't factor in how margins work.

for small account: 50K, what is the reasonable return?

Reasonable return for doing what? Daytrading or passive investing? If its daytrading (i.e its your day job) you should be looking at a 6 figure annual returns from it, else its simply not worth the time, you'd be better off with a proper day job. For passive investing, 6-8% annual returns on...

    2014: The Battle for Survival

Grinding it out, day after day

No need to get your panties in a bunch, I said "or", I didn't say with certainty that he wasn't profitable anymore. I think traders who trade stocks were probably not affected by the large drop in volatility in most markets, you will always find volatility/range in individual stocks if you...
