    TV Show: Million Dollar Traders

Most of the money on those short time frames was just changing hands, not being lost. 90% of the time that's what happens. Trick is just (just!) to make sure you're on the right side of the equation.

"Don't do a Nick Leeson, dear". I don't think there's any danger of that.

    TV Show: Million Dollar Traders

I watched this show and just shook my head in disbelief. They expect these newbies to start making money right out of the gate, with two weeks training? It takes YEARS to master both the markets and your emotions, and even then only a few make it. And the guy who was putting up the capital...

    Comcast ,,|,,(-_-),,|,,

I am just outside Chicago city limits, and have ATT DSL. Its reliability is extremely good, even with streaming quotes 24x7. I am happy with it. However, your mileage may vary. I am looking at finding something else as a dual (back-up) internet connection, however and can't see any other...

    dual-redundant network connections

Hi, I want to have both DSL and cable internet, connected to two different network cards on my computer. It is a PC running Windows Vista (yes, I know). My question is, will packets route seamlessly through whichever connection is less busy or, if one connection goes out, through the...

98% of Traders Fail? Says Who...?

Trading futures is a zero-sum game. Trading stocks (over a short time frame) is still mostly a zero-sum game. Thus for every winner, there will be an equal and opposite loser. If you have a system that loses consistently, just trade the opposite of it, and you will be on the opposite side of...

Equity traders have proven themseleves on ET, futures traders remain a mystery

I concur - just because someone says it can't be done, doesn't mean it can't. I've spent my entire life proving that, and trading the YM profitably is just one more example.

    amp futures

Further to the last post, one of my orders (a sell to exit) got filled in the night at a price that was 2 points better than my limit! (YM trade). That would NEVER have happened at IB, and I've used them long enough to know. So, for the moment at least, count me an even happier AMP client.

    amp futures

I use them and am happy with them. They have a choice of platforms (neither of which is free). I use NinjaTrader with ZenFire, which is very fast. Order execution seems to be decent.

    $500/day

So very true. About 3 months ago, I was trying to find a way to reduce drawdowns in my trading system (which is 100% automated). One thing I pulled out of the air was the idea of having a weekly target and loss limit, and quitting when one of these is hit, no matter what. And, hey presto, my...

I average about 20 YM points per session, with a mechanical system. Were you asking about points per trade, or per session?
